He really hasn't accomplished much in BJJ.
NoGi is niche and even ADCC is new in comparison to BJJ competition. Most of the top BJJ competitors including Buchecha train NoGi secondary to the Gi...
I haven't seen it but no doubt Lloyd has the results to back up his qualifications to teach the material. If you get it, please post a review. I'm interested.
He did. Prior to Marcelo, seatbelt control wasn't really focused on. Back control revolved more around hook maintenance. Marcelo also added X guard to BJJ and popularized Butterfly guard.
I got an Artificial Disk and been back training for over a year. I still have nerve damage but since returning I was promoted and won Silver at Master Worlds at my new belt (Brown). My biggest regret was not getting the surgery sooner.
I disagree. An important part of the "Monkey Grip" is to rotate your wrists. If you don't rotate your wrists, then the Thumb grip is easier to control. If you use the Monkey Grip and really rotate your wrists, then it is much harder for your opponent to straighten their arm.Or even begin to get...
I competed in the same division as one of your Brown Belts at Master Worlds. Didn't get a chance to compete against him but he looked really technical.
I am assuming you are talking Gi BJJ. If that is the case, I suggest Mikey Museci's instructional. Best IBJJF legal foot attacks available IMO. The leglock game has changed alot and Mikey's set has the most up to date material on the new style of straight ankle attacks.
In my observations, the main barrier for BJJ in a fight is the take down. IMO too many people assume they can easily get a take down against an untrained opponent. After that, i'd say any good blue or average purple belt should have no problems in a fight against the majority of people. I am a...
Its funny catching this thread again (I did an Estima lock search). I actually caught this thread the night before a tournament. I ended up getting injured at that tournament (nasty toehold) and was off the mats for a while. While off I really studied leg locks including much of what is...
Is it me or does it seem like it is formatted out of order?
The techniques seem money though. Retention and escapes are a weak part of my game and I’m confident this Instructional will help.
BJJers know MORE techniques but the old schoolers had more DEPTH to their techniques. Rickson has way better BJJ than the best purples. Nowadays there is more specialization than there was in the past. This leads to huge holes in people's BJJ. Rickson might not be as current on the latest...
A big reason why I feel Hall is overrated as a grappler (online) is not only his lack of accolades but the quality of opponents he beat. He competed at both Light and Featherweight which have been deep divisions. I can't think of any of the top competitors that he beat. When I look at his...
Who has he KOed in the UFC?
BTW, it is obvious that you are a Ryan Hall fan and I'll admit that I have bias in that I have always believed him to be overrated. I doubt we will come to an agreement. My point is that both are primarily grapplers and that Kron by far has the most grappling...
