I was amazed that nobody ever mentioned that she had done porn when she became a famous singer. This was pre internet of course so it wasn't until way later that I thought back on it and realized it was a fake picture.

They've been making porn parodies and hiring lookalikes, and weird porn pictures with someone else's head shooped on, for as long as the internet has been around. Might be time to admit porn and other "sex work" are pretty degrading, and maybe not worth the momentary desire to pop off.

As despicable as it is, I'm more troubled by people manufacturing history and the like, creating, manufacturing and distributing fictions that will be difficult if not impossible to distinguish from the truth down the road.

This. I think that this will muddy the waters when it comes to accusations of wrongdoing by politicians for example, and even in criminal trials. Manufactured evidence is not far fetched, but the flip side of that is that real evidence will be at risk of being discredited as well.

Celebrities are a different case than some regular Joe/Jane, though, as they seek out the spotlight for that paycheck. I'm going to be less sympathetic towards them, and I don't feel that's particularly unfair.
