Yeah, Jon Fitch's style can be boring, but it's really his opponents that make it that way. Daley is a horrible, horrible grappler, hasn't improved in like 10 years. How can that be? Why doesn't he just box or kickbox? To me guys like Daley just want to beat up on guys who are amateur boxers and kickboxers. If you can't grapple, don't want to grapple, complain about grappling, then don't fight in MMA. The same thing applies to watching the sport.

Just watched the fight. Daley really unloaded at the end of the 1st. Landed some great punches, and even threw a couple spear elbows that looked like they hurt Fitch! However, outside of that, the fight was a snooze fest. I was laughing when Daley was booing the fight himself during the 3rd. Same Fitch, same boring fight.

Daley should go to Glory or another non-MMA promotion. Always an exciting standup fighter, but when it goes to the ground, he can’t do anything. Just look at the way Rory MacDonald completely toyed with him on the ground last year.

He had Daley in some of the most dominant positions in MMA and failed to do anything even remotely interesting, he didn't even attempt anything as he had Daleys back, with his arm trapped, while Daley was ignoring Fitch and talking shit to his corner, just weak arm punches so the referee doesn't stand them up. Although Daley does have some blame in that, it's not the first time Fitch has had a guy mentally broken, gassed and in a dominant position without even bothering to capitalise or do anything that makes the fight worth watching.

He has finished one fight in the last 11 years, one fight! It's not like he's been inactive either, in that span he's has 14 decision wins, 15 if you count the Penn fight. While I did enjoy one or two of those fights, for every Erik Silva or Brian Foster performance we get a Daley fight, a Saunders fight, a Shields fight, a Gono fight etc. etc.

He's a talented enough fighter to give most those guys he decisioned serious beat downs but he'd rather just ride out another safe, boring victory in the most lame way possible. He is everything GSP has been accused of and then some.

I agree. There's plenty of great grapplers/wrestlers out there that get the finish or do serious damage on the ground regardless of whether their opponent is taking chances or not. Fitch just doesn't go for it or doesn't currently have the skills to do so.
