Best Nickname in boxing history

One of the worst was Nate Campbells nickname: The Galaxxy Warrior.

Sounded terrible

"The Alien" has got to be in the running there, too. I'm a Hopkins fan; Executioner was a great name. The Alien? Sounds like something Chris Algieri would name himself.

"Poison" Junior Jones
Ezzard "Cincinnati Cobra" Charles
Fritzie "the Croat Comet" Zivic
"Cocoa Kid"
"Kid Chocolate"
"Oakland" Billy Smith
"Big Boy" Hogue & "Shorty" Hogue (brothers)
"Young Gene" Buffalo (real name Eugene Corker)

The old timers had better nicknames.
Joe barbados demon walcott is pretty good too

"smokin" Joe.
"Pacman" Paqcuiao.

My favorite:

1. Smokin' Joe
2. Sugar Ray
3. Bonecrusher Smith

That could maybe work for a defensive fighter...

Like marlon magic man starling worked imo
IDK I think it's a little cheesy. Starling isn't as bad because his name starts with M. I think Malignaggi (ends with M but eh, I'm whiny like that) and Tarver are really corny IMO.

I like Jofre's "golden bantam," particularly when it's in Portuguese

Its some nickname of famous fighter :

Hands of Stone (Roberto "No Mas" Duran)

The Hitman (Tommy Hearns)

The Greatest (Muhammad Ali)

The Bayonne Bleeder (Chuck Wepner)

The Golden Boy (Oscar de la Hoya)

The Mongoose (Archie Moore)

What is a "great" nickname ?
In my view, it's a name or a word that best and most succinctly describes the style or persona of a great fighter.

"El Terrible" Morales
"Big" George Foreman
"Smokin" Joe
Thomas "The Hitman" Hearns
"Iron" Mike Tyson

^these all are great nicknames for great fighters.

The absolute best though is *indubitably (to quote a word from that troll haired freak, Don King) is "Sugar" Ray Robinson.
That nickname transcended boxing into the wider world. It skipped time and generations and even other sports.

A close second, like 1b to a 1a is my man Ali's.
The Greatest or The G.O.A.T

The only reason I place Sugar above it is because while there has been many Sugars, there's only ever been one G.O.A.T (RIP).

El teri-ble es el mejor

My friend named himself "the Failure from Australia" which I thought was good

I think "magic man" is pretty bad

the only magic man...
