Better MTV Unplugged: Nirvana or Alice in Chains

Nirvana. They played it on repeat right after he died. Kurt looked like he hadn't showered in a year. You got The Meat Puppets and all those great cover songs and the Ledbelly cover is one of the best things they ever did.

Those are the two best unplugged episodes MTV did imo I would say Nirvana edged AIC out by a little bit.

As a young musician, I was greatly influenced by Nirvana in the 1990s.

The VHS tape I recorded the performances on was played so often it eventually gave out.

I admit there’s a certain mystique attached to it, considering the events that happened just four and a half months after that performance which can skew how it is perceived, but even before that I thought it was a tremendous set.
