Locked BLACK PANTHER Thread V.2 (First Critics' Reviews)

<DisgustingHHH>

I didn't trust these generic twitter movie critics since Starwars Last Jedi. I will wait for the handful of people who actually stood their ground and gave us their honest opinions.

Was getting hyped from reviews til I saw this - so true

Why the fuck does anyone like Last Jedi?

Aw shits

Will wait for @Dragonlordxxxxx ’s review. Like many I was concerned about him potentially being a Disney shill, but he opened up a can whoop-honesty on that fucking turd of a film, The Last Jedi, confirming he has integrity.

After reading his non-spoiler review and not yet seeing the movie, I thought he was probably being too hard on Ep8.

But after seeing the movie, and re-reading his non-spoiler review and then spoiler comments, I thought he went far too easy on it.

I gave Ep8 a 2/10.

As for this Black Panther movie, well, to quote Star Wars... I have a bad feeling about this.

Trust Der Feige

It's always wise to be skeptical of unqualified praise, but I am going to admit the "best MCU film since the Winter Soldier" kind of worked on me.

Hopefully if nothing else, this movie really does have an antagonist worthy of the hero.

I call it like I see it. I'm a huge mark for Kingsman but gave the sequel a low passing score. But there will come a point where we are going to disagree on a movie. I hope you treat it as you do with your friend - you disagree on a few things but overall you have more in agreement and you're still pals.

The reviews remind me of Wonder Woman, which I found totally average...and I'm not even being biased.

I am not a hateful or spiteful person by heart and have a more objective way of looking at things. So my reviews on movies also reflect that.

Has there ever been a Disney Marvel film that didn't recieve 'overwhelmingly positive' reactions from critics-only viewings just days before a world-wide release?

Can't recall a single one that all critics said 'this movie is complete shit, don't waste your time and money, don't fall for the tens-of-millions marketing budget trying to trick you into see it.'

Well, there really have been no Marvel movies that are that bad. Even Thor 2 and Iron Man 2 which are the worst of the MCU are miles above something Like Green Lantern or Suicide Squad.

Lol at the Twitter reactions.

These guys act like every Disney nerd movie is groundbreaking. What does Disney do that all these "critics" become shills?

At the least, we will have a good villain and a good setting.

Sounds positive to me.

Serkis in anything is great.

Also, Dr. Strange was awful.

Oh a bunch of TLJ naysayers all of a sudden.

I loved the Last Jedi, my favorite Star Wars movie since '83.

Can't wait for Ep 9.

I feel that @Dragonlordxxxxx was a tad to hard on it in his review I also feel you kinda need to be more deep into Star Wars to truly appreciate the last movie.

Threaten to kill their families, duh.

Not the first time I've heard this compared to Bond. I really like T'challa/Panther, but I don't see the resemblence. T'challa is a king, Bond is an assassin. Black Panther is a far superior warrior, and prefers to fight up close and personal; I don't recall seeing Panther ever using firearms. Black Panther is Superhuman, Bond is just a very tough, highly trained man.

Beyond both characters being cool as fuck, I don't see the comparison.

It's probably because they go to a casino and do some stuff.

Great movie or not I'm just excited about possibly getting a decent bad guy for once.

The Disney marvel universe is like Pixar. They only put out hits for the most part. It doesn’t get past the cutting room floor if it isn’t at least a good movie.

I have faith in Coogler. He keeps it incredibly real and seems genuine when it comes to directing movies.

I got my tickets for 15 Feb.

Those tweets are exactly what I would write if I was a paid shill.

I don’t agree with you on all your reviews. Blade Runner 2049 was like a 9/10 for me.

I predict it will rank somewhere around 6.5-7.5/10.............like just about every other comic book movie released in the last 10 years.
