Brazil In Turmoil: Jailed for corruption, ex-President Lula registered for presidency bid again

Yeah, we're in stagflation, so we definitely need to curb public spending to stabilize prices. There's no other way. Investors want to see if we are willing to fix our imbalances instead of sticking to the latin-style populism in place for at least the past 6 years.

Cut useless spending and increase infrastructure spending, also work in order to attract foreign investors.

But with corruption all spending is going to be wasteful.

Moments ago the crowd was singing "Hey Dilma fuck you" in the UFC 198 event

That might not be politically viable right now as the country's biggest construction companies, like Odebrecht for example, are among the most deeply involved with the corruption uncovered by Lava Jato.

Any measure that might result in them or their subsidiaries receiving fat construction contracts, even if everything is above board, might be seen with suspicion by the public.

Yeah, thats why i said nothing will work as long as corruption remains high.

Brazil, where everyone say they want to get rid of corruption and yet there's not a single untainted politician in sight to lead their country out of the mud pit. I actually asked for ONE clean name early on in this debate, and still got nothing a dozen pages later.

No matter if it's Left or Right, they are fucked either way since Brazilian corruption is non-partisant, and judging on the passionate posts in this discussion, folks from outside of Brazil are actually more awared of that fact than the bickering folks on the inside.

Who knows, with all three branches of government continue failing them, may be one day they too will vote for a strong man who vows to kill all the corrupts with his personal death squad and throw their bodies down the Amazon river to feed the piranhas!

As the great Tom Jobim once said "Brazil is not for beginners"
LOL at you thinking you understand what's going here. The difference about the corruption of the PT party is that it was bigger and was instituted as a method of government, they stole to bribe other politicians, while the older forms of corruption only stole to put it in their own pockets, it changed the system. Of course there are clean names in here, there are good politicians in here. I could put here a list of clean politicians here and that would be huge, don't take this poor view seriously.

The most relevant fact about this impeachment is not being said here, it only occurred because of the protests on the streets in the last 3 years. All this opposition you guys are accusing of commanding the allegedly "coup d'etat" did not wanted the impeachment 1 year ago, it only happened because the Brazilian people pressured them to do so. The protests in march 13 this year were THE BIGGEST IN THE HISTORY OF THE EASTERN CIVILIZATION.

No, they did it because they hear Lava Jato knocking on the door.

Corruption is not even on the speech of politicians involved

It's pretty sad that, say, 1/3 of the world's countries are basically just ballparks for investors to play games in.

Look how happy those people are to announce the "coup" in the Cannes festival, they know their claim is shit

They know the new government won't give money to those retards to make movies

What?? This has nothing to do with what's going on right now in Brazil

Well, it will, but I think I was reading this thread at the same time at the Venezuela thread and posted that here. Any turmoil in a country is just dollar signs though.

Venezuela crisis also have nothing to do with investors, there's no conspiracy

You don't know shit, it would be lot better for everyone involved in corruption to get things static as they were. Do you know when the suckers get away from the government they lose their legal immunity? Now they were all soon to get arrested. Shut the fuck up you're embarassing yourself with you lack of knowledge

It's not a conspiracy, they're simply vultures. They sit thousands of miles away and view every bad news reports as a chance to cash in on peoples misery. Debt is the larger issue, but they are a symptom.

So you think Temer and the others will just sit around and face investigation without doing nothing? Yes, Brazil is such a special snowflake.

Temer and the others saw an opportunity and took it. Dont expect miracles to happen. Give them a few years in power and people will start seeing the right as the bad guys and they will get their rose colored nostalgia googles about how good things were with Lula.

Most Venezuelan debt is with China, blame the retarded Hugo for trusting Castro and the Chinese.
