The most astonishing thing about Singapour is how clean it is. I know they have stringent laws for littering etc.
But they sure pay off. And I am from small-town West Germany, so my standard for clean is already high.
Not even Switzerland can give Singapour a run for their money when it comes to cleanliness.

Yeah, I have been around for a while.
Also until last year, you could refuse a breathalyzer test by paying a 2000 Baht fine.
You would drive super hammered into the checkpoint pay the fine. The cops were happy because they get 30% from the fine.
Get back on your bike and that's its. But they changed that now.
Which is a bit of an issue because I don't think a couple Thai cops calibrating a breathalyzer would hold up in a German court :).

That's why they say Amazing Thailand.

call me crazy, but if i am gonna travel to another country, especially one that has much different cultural norms than I am used to, i will probably do some googling and figure out what sort of "strange" laws they may have. i realize that i must conform to THEIR standards and not the other way around
