It's almost as if these guys think that climate differences, droughts, flooding, famine and struggle were non existent before combustion engines were a thing.

The scam is that every single weather event is blamed on climate change.

Did it rain more than normal? Climate change.

Did it rain less than normal? Climate change.

Did a flood plain flood? Climate change.

Water is difficult to come by when you have tens of millions of people in the middle of a desert? Climate change.

We got a quarter inch of rain last week and the weather people were yelling "atmospheric river!!!!" all week. It's all just a scam designed to keep you thinking you need politicians to save you when in reality the scam is just there to eventually separate you from your money and rights.

Your child has leukemia. You're drilling the doctor with questions about preventing dementia when the child turns 80. The doctor looks at you like you're crazy, but informs you that yes that might be a problem, but that's far in the future, and there's far more pressing issues at the moment. Your response to the doctor is, seems like you're being kind of short sited?

As a more serious response, do you understand what caused the movement between glacial and interglacial periods? Do you understand why the next time those changes occur, it might not cause the planet to go back to a glacial period?

What you're saying makes sense for a child who has leukemia but that analogy doesn't apply at all to our current situation. We aren't all going to die at the rate we're going. A legit ice age will kill off most of us. Warming up a degree will not.

Weather - "the state of the atmosphere at a place and time as regards heat, dryness, sunshine, wind, rain, etc."

Climate - "the weather conditions prevailing in an area in general or over a long period."

The stupidity of this post is dizzying.

What are the repercussions of climate doomsaying? Why do people get to make outrageous claims about the climate, affect public opinion and policy, be proven categorically incorrect and not face any consequences? Especially when climate policy almost always affects the everyday lives of average people.

I'm talking about "climate change" as the scam they've labeled it as. Not the climate literally changing.

You know, the scam formally known as "global warming"? The previous scam that needed a name change because people caught on to it. They smartened up with the newest iteration of the scam because now literally anything can be blamed on the scam because the climate is always changing.

Before only warming could be blamed on the boogeyman but now they can blame warm, cold, wet and dry on it. Perfect scam to run on people who are perpetually scared of everything in existence and need the government as a parental figure to walk them through life.

There's no risk of an ice age anytime soon. We're not all going to die due to climate change, but most likely hundreds of millions will. Seems like a pretty big problem to ignore because another problem might occur in a few thousand years.

Once again, please provide instruction how to "learn and fix"...because all you are doing is suggesting that hand-waving is a viable solution. What actions would you have people in the region take to fix the drought, resulting crop failure, and subsequent food insecurity?

P.S. - just a quick scan of that paper and the authors acknowledged the drought was not only worse than any other drought despite falling into the "possible without anthropogenic" range. The paper then later says:

"This demonstrates that anthropogenic forcing makes soil moisture extremes (as measured by PDSI) and agricultural droughts more likely and expands the distribution to include a wider range of possible PDSI values. These results are consistent with other studies where drought remains dominated by natural rainfall variability, but has been intensified by warming (Diffenbaugh et al., 2015; Griffin & Anchukaitis, 2014; Williams et al., 2015, 2020). Research on the 2013–2016 Caribbean drought also revealed that warming temperatures exacerbated soil moisture deficits and expanded the susceptible area (D. A. Herrera et al., 2018).

I'm not sure if you purposely linked a study that said human contributions will make bad natural events worse or not, but good going on that.
