Didn't he sign a new contract before his last fight? If so they can't be lowballing him. His value hasn't grown though so there could be problems if he's pushing for more. The ESPN PPV deal has come in since then so that could well be causing some renegotiation. The Cerrone fight won't be a blockbuster like Nate or Khabib so they might be wary of giving him a huge guarantee.

They're really cutting this fine if they want to get this done for mid-January.

A renegotiation is an absolute must with the ESPN+ PPV deal. Because there's no way they are doing the same numbers as they were before.

You saying Conor wont fight Justin because he is scared to lose is based on absolutely nothing.

Why would Conor chose to make Justin a famous multimillionaire overnight? Justin just got done saying Conor is a shitty father that his son won't look up to. The last thing Conor would do is grant him a red panty night for it.

And conor chooses the low hanging fruit again by fighting the guy Gaethje ko'd in the first round in his last fight.
Why not fight the higher ranked guys if he wants a rematch? Did Justin hurt his feelings? Wouldn't it help sell the fight having a guy like Gaethje to go back and forth with? Cerrone isn't gonna do it, so on one hand you cry about McGregor having to carry the promotion but also cry when someone talks trash back to him. Which is it today?

Past caring. He's a public nuisance now and rarely fights, and he's shown he folds under pressure. Cerrone is hand-picked because he will stand and bang which will make Connor look brilliant when he's got great hands and reflexes but lacks wrestling and heart. He's no longer top 5 and relies on hype more than skill and will.
