Cro Cop, after far more dominant/illustrious kickboxing career than Izzy, showed decline by 29 fights

Cro Cop was highly sought after as one of biggest free agents ever in MMA by time he got to UFC. He finished Eddie Sanchez in round 1 but didnt look great. Then of course the Gonzaga upset was at his 29th fight then a mid 29-28 decision loss to Kongo.

29th MMA fight - Gonzaga
30th MMA fight - Kongo

Cro Cop had serious injuries as well that kept him from fighting NYE show in 06 for his legs and hips that had Hunt fight Fedor on short notice instead.

People wondered how did Cro Cop fall off.... Kickboxing mileage and injuries caught up. The low IQ fans couldnt comprehend this.... Now we're seeing a similar story play out with Izzy

25th MMA fight - Alex whos 7-1 finishes him in championship rounds
26th MMA fight - Alex whos a -250 favorite before Izzy found the KO was badly hurting and easily winning fight
27th MMA fight - gets dropped, clobbered and walked like a dog in a massive upset to Sean Strickland

We told you low IQ nerds Cro Cops injury and kickboxing mileage caught up. Now we're seeing it with Izzy.... Who was a far less dominant and decorated kickboxer than Mirko was too.

Each fighter ages differently.
Rickson Gracie was still going strong after 400 fights.

What part don't I know about the fact that HMC, HUNT and SAPP where straight cans.

Dude have a bit of respect for yourself.

I don't think Sapp starches Izzy in 60 seconds but he beat down Hoost.

Sapp was feared at the time and many elite kickboxers avoided to fight him despite his rudimentary technique.
I dont know if he would've starch Izzy. You never know with such a juicep up freak of nature.
Hoost fought silly and paid for his arrogance. If just sticked to discplined defense and leg kicks while avoiding the corner, he would frustrate Bob as Bonjasky did.
Hoost in his prime would beat Israel imo

He moves well but his overall cage craft isn't very good. He doesn't have the awareness and sharp pivots like Aldo to not constantly get pinned against the cage. It's mot even like Strickland was a monster puncher whose power was enough to put Izzy on the fence for 20 odd mins

He has flaws of course, but you make it sound like its easy to just pressure forward and expose those flaws but the reality is that Canonier and Vettori tried and failed miserably, and serious punchers as Costa, Whittaker and Pereira got KOed in the process.

I dont think is fair to compare a guy as Israel (or Silva) with a 40lbs lighter Jose Also. Of course it's likely we see more technical prowess in the much smaller man.
You have to compare them with their equal and btw, Aldo mostly made it effective vs wrestling-based opponents, when finally faced striking specialists he mostly lost, not to mention the Conor debacle.

Cro Cop had 34 kickboxing fights.

Izzy had 80.

Pride fans never disappoint.
True, but when did Izzy fight against killers (or similar guys) like Lebanner, Aerts, Hoost, Bonjasky, Hug, Bernardo, Hunt, Greco, ...

Yeah you got it typical dusty old good for nothing Pride Pro Wrestling fans. Sapp and HMC are both know to take dives for money. It's 2023 the fact that your still trying to legitimatize that garbage is pathetic.

Crazy how most pride legends were suddenly out of their prime when they started getting tested.

Also had over 50 amateur boxing fights, not the same a pro kickboxing but still taxing

Cro Cop fought boxing Olympic medailists and world champions during his amateur boxing career:
Siraghei Liakhovich, Alexei Lezin, Sinan Samil Sam, Alexis Rubalcaba, Paolo Vidoz.
Mirko has victory over World amateur boxing champion Sinan Samil Sam in 1997.

Filipovic represtented his country on international boxing tournaments, and he participated in world championship, facing champions of other countries, including some of the best amateur boxers of that time.

Strange that nobody seems to have a problem with people like JDS and Cain declining in their early 30's but Mirko doing the same, no thats just crazy Pride fanboy talk.

seemed to when the other guy said Hunt was better than anyone Izzy faced

No, I replied to a couple of guys who were discussing with each other.
One was discrediting Mirko and the other Adesanya, and in both cases it was painfully obvious that they were a couple of ignorant shertards

The guy you refer in particular said this:

Izzy legit fought like three good fighters his entire kickboxing career and lost to all of them.

Izzy lost to the only guys who were the same size as him once his reach bullying got exposed

- Adesanya beat Yoursi Belgaroui, Filip Verlinden and Bogdan Stoica, apart from controversial decisions with Simon Marcus and Jason Wilnis. He is no Mirko but he is no scrub by any means

- Apart that "reach bullying" is a textbook shertard concept, Israel had actually more trouble with guys he had more reach advantage over, as KG, Strickland, Whittaker or even Romero. Same happened in kickboxing.

Too many #sherbromemes

the fuck is "reach bullying"? how the fuck are you gonna get mad at a fighter's natural arm or leg length? what, should they chop off part of their arms to make it even with the other fighter so there's no disadvantages?
thats really dumb. not comparable at all to weight bullying which can actually be a thing. you learn something new every day on Sherdog.

Aldo wouldn't scale perfectly but he out up he'll of a fights against Yan and Holloway, who are better pressures fighters than Bisping or Weidman. That's why I was highlighting his better layered defensive tactics than Silva.

The guys you mentioned Izzy beating aren't really steady pressure fighters, other than Costa, who seemed lost for whatever reason. Whitaker is an outfighter who gets antsy when he can't find his jab, cannonier is more of a meandering power striker, vetttori has no power and Izzy and Perreira split fights. All good fighters in their own fights but not tried and true pressure fighters for the most part.

He blew out his ACL and had to have major surgery between winning the OWGP and his UFC debut.

Look at this movement and tell me he was the same in UFC.

crocop-silva.gif

Cro Cop did in fact look exactly the same against Sanchez in his debut.

Crocop fought Andy Hug, Remy Bonjasky, Ernesto Hoost, Peter Aerst, Jerome Le Banner,...

Adesanya fought... bunch of nobodies and got beaten by most of the guys who have a wikipedia page. Alex is his best rival and he was beaten twice by him.

JLB was legit terrifying. I was hoping he could get into mma at some point.

Imagine comparing 90s K1 GPs with one of the weakest periods kickboxing has ever seen
