Have a phone appointment with my VA doc tomorrow to get this pec and quad looked at. Pec does feel better today, but I'm just going to press until I see the physio and see what they say. Presses felt good. It doesn't put any loaded force on my pec tendon so hopefully I can still keep pressing. Im sure they will say I can't bench for a bit.

In good news, my deadlift feels great. My old PR from like a year ago is only 535 and I'm way above that. Before I pulled my quad I feel like I was close to 600. Might test it out soon. I'm using a 590 training max for it right now with Sheiko. I feel like the upper back work from the DB rows have really helped it.

Pec was feeling good so I benched. It felt fine. I'm waiting for the physical therapist to call me. At the very least I'll go in and have them look at it and they can give me some stuff to do for it. But it feels really good right now. I think they called me while I was at the Stockton Arena but I missed it. Kid didn't get the job done. His first opponent ended up forfeiting then he got the 10th ranked kid in the state and lost to him. That kid went on to win the whole thing. Then he faced another strong senior who beat him twice in freestyle last year. He was down 7-0 in the third period but hit a lateral drop and threw the kid to his back and almost pinned him. Only the 2nd time he has hit that move ever. But the kid was strong and reversed him, caught an arm and pinned him. I don't like this weight for him. Now that I've seen him at this weight the last three tournaments he doesn't seem as explosive or strong as he was at 177. He was light for that weight at 171 but that was when he was sick for 3 weeks. Before that he walked around 175 and was pinning kids. He only got one pin at 167 out of his 5 wins there. But also he just needs to get better overall. 95% of his losses were to ranked seniors this season. If he works hard this year I know he can make state next year.

I like the Freak Athlete Nordic Hyper. First time really using it, but the incline option for Nordics is a great idea. I was able to do them without blatantly cheating or just collapsing, and then come up slow and without momentum. Interested to see if it works that I can overtime keep lowering the incline till I can actually do them flat.

Had to keep the accessory stuff quick today to get the kid to his drum lesson and I was pretty spent from BJJ. Will hit arms hard the rest of the week.

*1 - Note: On Friday I was talking to the lady I'm dating and mentioned I was heading to the gym. We had this exchange (note that she's referring to us going to lunch a couple days earlier):

Her: When you got up to use the men's room I saw this thing on your back that I really like.
Me: What "thing" was on my back. *truly had no idea what she was talking about*
Her: I don't know muscle names, but I think they're called traps.
Me: **goes to gym and does shrugs**

When I talked to the doctor he asked me which would give me more relief - my pec or quad. Told him my pec but now my pec feels good and it's the quad bothering me. I'll tell the PT that I told my doc my quad was hurting too. Seems like the doc could only put in a referral for one thing at a time? Which is weird. Typical VA shit.

Anyways, press felt really strong. Pressing is fun. 235 was baby shit! Ol Rex is getting the itch to work on a 315 press! But I gotta talk it over with my tiger spirit and see what she says. She doesn't like me spreading myself too thin. I have a lot of goals on my plate. But since the 500 bench is on hold until we get this pec fixed I have an opening!

A 2 plate plus OHP for reps is already a badass lift. 3 plates would be insane!
