41 is old for fighting, and he reaction to a punch in the cage may not be the instant fast twitch response a fighter needs at a championship level anymore.

But he's 41, not 85. He looks pretty damned good for 41 at that, and his reaction is instant, he's just not all that surprised or blown away. Makes sense. He's seen some shit in his career.

Stipe is past his prime at 41. Stipe has been in the cage many times and has many big wins, so not surprising he isn't jumping up and down after watching a fight. Plus Stipe now has to deal with rise of Aspinall combined with Jones getting injured and putting Stipe's match against Jones in jeopardy when Jones returns from his injury. Why would a 41 year old fighter want to delay his last pay day and see another upcoming fighter be poised to jump his spot in line vs. the champion? If anything Stipe was disappointed to see Aspinall blast Pavlovich so quickly. Stipe's best outcome was a boring 5-round decision that could have gone either way so that Stipe kept his spot as next in line for Jones rather Aspinall gaining serious momentum. Never forget that this is prize fighting and the prize is $$$...
