This is a stupid argument. Someone on reddit or somewhere came up with it and people ran with it like it was some sort of gotcha.

We're talking martial arts obviously mechanical aids are off limits in a "real fight". By this logic you could keep going forever with drones, artillery and eventually nukes. Yeah the guy with the gun will be screwed right? Who tf thought this was an actual intelligent argument?

Every able bodied person on earth is born with the legs, elbows and hands needed to do MMA. You know what they aint born with? A handgun and a conceal carry permit.

It's not really a stupid argument. Being the "baddest man on the planet" in h2h combat is like being the fastest snail. It's not really something worth boasting about. Humans rule the planet with weapons and tools, not martial prowess. Even the baddest among us are little more than limp-wristed pussies that would get torn apart by a random overweight chimp a your local zoo.

Look at it this way - an elite BJJ guy has a brilliant chance of beating Anthony Joshua in an MMA bout, because grappling is dominant in this setting.

Nobody would realistically choose to have the elite BJJ guys skillset in a ‘real fight’ though. You want the ability to starch folk left, right and centre over the possibility of getting turned into a vegetable by some random onlooker while you’re in top position.

Huh? You can both enjoy sports as a form of entertainment and be able to put things in perspective such that what exactly constitutes "the baddest man on the planet" isn't a stupid argument.

It's the same with women's sports. Just because top female athletes cannot hold a candle to top male athletes doesn't mean we have to cancel all female sports instead of just enjoying them for what they are bruv.
