Did Israel pick the Judges AND the ref?

i'm not saying he's a good judge. but there are a few concerns...

if anyone else with less of a name wants to remove him from judging their fights, will the ufc/commission care or tell them to go fuck themselves? why not just fire him take his judging card away?

The fact that the commissions don't fire or even discipline incompetent officials is another issue altogether.

In boxing, it's a common practice for headliners who object to certain officials being assigned to fights.

If it's someone with a proven track record of stupidity, like Lee, I've got no issue whatsoever with fighters or their management trying to get them removed.

If you can remove a judge to your liking, it IS picking your own judges. If you are given THREE judges, and can remove one to your liking, you are picking your own judge to your liking. If he didn't like the new one, then he could have removed that one to if he could have removed the first one. How is that not picking judges to your liking

I see what you mean... but it's not like he's hand picking the best judges who are biased for his fighting style or anything. He has no say on which judge replaced Chris Lee... It's still judged by three judges that Izzy has no hand in. I agree that fighters shouldn't be allowed to request a judge to be removed, where as with refs they SHOULD(like Dan and MVP), but he's not picking his judges... just one he doesn't one. You could argue semantics and wouldn't exactly be wrong but there is a difference. Choosing a judge would give a fighter a say in the outcome of the fight by handpicking a judge that based on his history is biased towards strikers or grapplers is definitely shady... Requesting a judge be removed because you feel they are incompetent... Eh, shouldn't be allowed but there is nothing stopping the possibility that an even worse judge takes his place.

The commission decides to honour the request or not, if they do decide to remove that judge, the commission picks the next judge. Israel does not. How do you not understand this? Brock Lesnar also requested Mazz not ref his fight too

There are also articles about Chris Lee having a history of poorly scored cards. You can't just tell the commission "I hate this judge so don't use him"

When he's terrible, you absolutely should be allowed to not have 1 in particular, judge your fight. You obviously shouldn't ever be allowed to pick the judge though.

Chris Lee shouldn't actually be allowed to judge MMA fights, let alone 1 particular fight.
