Huh? Jason Herzog says hello?+1. Not one ref out there is better than Goddard. Anyone criticizing him is going into fights purely biased.
It's not even a matter of MMA, it should be a basic human right. You kick me in the dick, I get 5 minutes. No discussion.A guy doesn't get a timeout for getting kicked in the dick?
Idiotic white belt post, dude is the best in the business. GOATard
Jason Herzog is miles better than goddard+1. Not one ref out there is better than Goddard. Anyone criticizing him is going into fights purely biased.
GOATzog has been the best ref for yearsJason Herzog is miles better than goddard
Ive been saying that. Fuck Goddard.I've witnessed Marc Goddard ruin a few title fights by stopping them prematurely such as Colby Usman 1, Periera vs Adesanya 1, Periera vs Jiri, and now he stops the Cedric Doumbe fight after he stepped on glass inside the octagon. This ref is a serious problem and there's only going to be more problems going forward especially in title fights Marc Goddard has proven he CAN NOT BE TRUSTED in high stress situations.
People in here don't realize that's the biggest clownshow issue here. How the fuck does that not get noticed or cleaned up?because there were shards of glass in your cage
If there is no function for the ref to pause a fight to remove a foreign object from a fighter, then a ref should have the critical thinking skills to do it themselves. You have to be a bootlicking moron to think that Ref's can't exercise good judgement in moments where there are no policies in place to address an incident. "Just keep going" is a dumb mentality to have when it comes to fighter safety that's been compromised due to bad cage conditions. There isn't a function for the ref to pause the fight to call the doctor to come in and remove glass. The only thing that is supposed to pause for is an immediate check if someone can continue. There are no time out, and fighters especially can't call them. That fight WAS over, whether you idiots want to cry about it or not. The only difference is the loss vs a genuine no contest, because how the fuck does a fight go on with broken glass in the cage? But if they pulled glass out of his foot after, then it should be overturned, but that doesn't mean Marc should have done anything different.
Doumbe had no idea the fight would get stopped due to that. It was pure miscommunication because PFL and Paris are too garbage to either afford French speaking Ref's or a microphone for a translator in the ear of the Ref. Also, Doumbe didn't call for the stop the second time, the other fight did. Did you even watch"ed" the fight?Did you even watched the fight? It was a small splinter...Nothing to say here, Doumbe quitted
You can't call a timeout. That's just how it works. I've seen fights stopped literally just because a fighter put his hand up before resetting his finger. Not because he reset his finger, he was totally able to reset his finger in the fight, but the fact he asked for a timeout means the fight is over.If there is no function for the ref to pause a fight to remove a foreign object from a fighter, then a ref should have the critical thinking skills to do it themselves. Terrible look for PFL and Paris.
In moments where there is no policy in place, Ref's are absolutely given the discretion to exercise good judgement. If beer bottles fly into the ring, does the fight continue? Absolutely not. If any foreign object enters the ring and hinders a fighter, it is imperative that the Ref exercise could judgement and find a way to pause the action and dispose of the foreign object. You can't call a timeout. The very purpose of the ref is to try and make the fight continue immediately, and the ultimate irony here is, the biggest complaint people have about Goddard is how much he inserts himself, but want him to excercise more fight-pausing discretion despite not having a specific function to do so.
The bad cage conditions could and should result in a no contest, because the contest could not be fairly decided when a fighter becomes compromised by the bad cage conditions, which means the fight should have been stopped anyway. Use that critical thinking skill you're advertising to others.
They can remove the object BEFORE it hinders the action. After if has hindered the action, then you now have a foreign problem that affected a fighter, and blah blah fast forward to no contest, like I said from the beginning. In moments where there is no policy in place, Ref's are absolutely given the discretion to exercise good judgement. My problem with Goddard is not his involvement itself, but the fact that he exercises very bad judgement along with unnecessarily belligerent and argumentative tendencies.
You would have a good point except Goofball Goddard immediately called it a TKO. Factor that into your critical thinking skills. The PFL and Paris failed their fighter and, in this instance, Goddard was an representative of both of those entities. Instead of taking accountability for a highly unusual incident caused by the bad management of the company and commission, he decided to punish the fighter with a TKO. A no contest would have been a very acceptable result from this, but that is not what happened.

That offends you?Only camel toe.
Comprehension is not your strong suit. That offends you?
