That doesnt really make sense considering he dropped Stipe and basically had him finished but went for a guillotine instead. He also beat top guys after losing to Stipe so he was far from done at any point in the last few years.

If Miocic beats Ngannou, there will only be rematches for Stipe anyway, so it will make an easier case for Overeem to get another title shot with only two or three wins in a row.

If Ngannou wins, Alistair would have to work much harder and might very well fail to get a longer streak.
