Not all matches are stalling so not a good argument. Like I said at that highest level it's hard to sweep, sub or even move guys off there base.

Ebi reward position that wasn't earned. I'm sorry I can't agree with that being a black belt in bjj.

    jesus fucking christ.

I was talking about how sanchez won adcc, thus the stalling quote.

Judges reward many many times undeserved wins also, your belt has absolutely nothing to do with this. This is about what is the best way to find a clear winner, in a match where there was no clear winner.

Yes Sanchez won because he was bulling guys across the mats. No one could break his base or be offensive towards him. Boring yes, but won by forcing his opponents to not attack and just defend.

    Don't get mad lol.

if he was attacking himself you would have a point, didnt happen though.

This isnt sumo, this is bjj or sub grappling, all of his matches were won by razor close decisions, many people though dopp beat him for example.

if adcc wouldve given more penalty calls for stalling, sanchez would've probably been disqualified.

Escaping from positions that weren't "earned" through positional grappling is a valuable part of the martial art of BJJ; as anyone who ever got knocked down by a punch and woke up with someone mounted on them will agree.

But in wrestling they have the referee position. That shit wasn't earned. In Soccer they have penalty kicks. That position wasn't earned. There are a few other examples of sports where they give you a position to break a tie or penalize the opponent.

The back or spiderweb is just a position given to break a tie. It's does prove a complete grappler if you can escape or finish. Sure there will be those examples where it was questionable. But usually in the end the best guy wins and most matches are not boring you to tears.

Is two sweeps beating a guard pass actually a significant factor?

In Jiu jitsu it's taught that position and control is at the top of the list when it comes to grappling. If you cannot pass your opponent guard than the question has to be ask how would you get spiderweb or even the back?

Cobrina, miyao brothers, mendes brothers and others would not have their guard passed in the first place, but to get put in a position and then the winner is determine by who gets out faster or who gets submission is laughable.

Ok. You don't like EBI rule set. That's fine. I and others do enjoy it.

What’s laughable is one guy wining a whole tournament by literally pushing people out of bounds...

    That argument cuts both ways.

"Only people who's back/spiderweb control sucks complain about losing due to inferior riding time."

Sorry for the necro, I had forgotten about this, but in Googling about a recent Joe Rogan podcast, ironically, I spotted this strange headline as the 4th result for my query, followed it, and discovered this article in what appears to be some sort of e-zine marketed towards chicks:
    https://galoremag.com/aubrey-marcus-open-relationships/
This article was composed in July 2017 six months before the EBI 14.
LOL, Travis straight up told the truth. Aubrey blackballed him from EBI (and effectively rescinded a job placement) because Travis wasn't into his hippie sex games.
