Volk definitely does deserve it. The only reason fans are claiming Edgar deserves it is because fans love Edgar. He's had multiple chances already.

It’s what you’ve done lately. If you’re gonna beat the same guy twice to get back in the win column, at least make a statement the second time, and Swanson hasn’t exactly been on a roll either. (He was already coming off a loss leading up to the Frankie fight) It wasn’t an impressive win and it shouldn’t have moved him much at all.

That's hard to do when everybody around you in the rankings is either on a 1 loss streak, a 2 loss streak, or max has already obliterated them twice before. Zabit and Edgar are really the only two guys standing out right now besides Volk/Aldo. They could give Edgar anybody in the Top 15 and on a win justify a Title shot, but Zabit needs to beat a name. A big name. If Zabit fights anybody and loses like say to Ortega then that just sets FW even farther back because the winner can't get a shot off it.

Aldo has lost twice to Max, and Ortega got freaking destroyed. Edgar could get a title shot if he waits, but it's more likely Volkanovski gets it.

He's on a great streak and Aldo is a huge step up if he wins his name def goes to the top of the list. However, Frankie has wins over Stephens (top 10), Yair (was top 10 at time, now #12), and Cub (top 10) with his only loss coming in a fight he shouldn't have taken against Ortega. If he beats Aldo then he should get the next shot for sure.
