Fallout TV Series (Premieres April 11)

I saw a review that said the show...

"The BEST Fallout since New Vegas."

D@MN!

As far as the Brotherhood Of Steel goes, I think that the show is going for the tried and true... "Well at least we're not THEM!" line of characterization.

I've been binge watching this since early this afternoon. Just finished ep 4 and took a break to eat.

And i've gotta say that it's been one hell of a ride so far. This show is great !! I'm usually not very high on video games adaptations but this is bang on. My only complaint so far is the over use of music but aside from that they nailed it. The atmosphere , the costumes , the visuals , the easter eggs , the true to the source material etc. As i fallout fan it's hard to imagine doing it better than that. It also has that "Anything can happen anytime" vibe. You never know what to expect next. Things take crazy twists and turns

Out of the flagship Amazon show it's so much better than Rings Of Power and just as entertaining as The Boys for me. Good stuff

I’m honestly very very VERY surprised with it, almost 3 episodes in. I figured it would be to my liking, but it is really exceeding my expectations as a huge fan of the universe. Has a little bit for everyone, and a lot for us fans.

Why did they do the show so..... comedic? So farcical?

Dude walks into the wasteland and the first we get is a joke about some pervert fucking a farmer's chickens?

well, they did play along with the wedding and all indicating they had some sort of plan to follow.

And not carrying about losing members just indicates they're inhumanly stupid😅
You mean why did they make it just like the games? IDK man...

Just finished it. I'll wait for more people to finish it before discussing spoilers here but let's just say that everything i said in my previous post still stand. It's not perfect but one of the best show i watched in a little while.

Can't wait for season 2 !

That's what happens when you have competent writers in charge. I wasn't that much hyped for it but when i saw that Jonathan Nolan was one of the brain behind it i was intrigued and thought it may have some potential. However like you it certainly exceeded my expectations as well. It was a crazy ride from start to finish

Glad to hear good reviews from people who played all the games. I know what I'm binging this weekend.

I'm also happy they dropped the entire season also.
I have thousands of hours in the Fallout games, love the world/lore. I'm more interested in hearing from people like you though, regarding the series, who didn't play all the games, or any of them.

I'm always super pessimistic about anything coming out today, as so much content is filled with lazy identity politics. However, after finishing it a couple of hours ago, I'm happy to say that this series is not woke at all. It's also incredibly faithful to the lore, more Bethesda's vision of Fallout at least.

The three main characters, Ghoul, Lucy, and Maximus, are all excellent. We get three unique perspectives from them, but I like how naive Maximus and Lucy are.

I already said they treated the lore properly, but my other big questions were about the NCR, Mr House/New Vegas, Enclave, how they'd portray the Brotherhood, and the vaults/Vault-Tec.

For those who finished, let's get into spoilers boys!!
Fucking eh, pre war Mr House makes an appearance, and New Vegas will be visited in S2. It looks like it's in shambles, as not only is the front gate blown wide open, the other casinos look destroyed. Lucky 38, Mr House's casino is still standing, so hopefully he's still there. I'm sure he played a role is taking out the NCR at Shady Sands. If Lucy's dad and other Vault-Tec senior management staff had a had in destroying the strip, he surely wouldn't be heading there.

Shady Sands was only one settlement of the NCR, but judging by the destruction at the strip, their presence in the Mohave are likely wiped out too. Hopefully they aren't completely done for. They aren't my fav faction, but the world is more interesting with them in it.

I'm so glad the Enclave is in the mix too. That facility in the 1st episode is huge. They clearly have the muscle to support it, so I expect them to play a larger role in S2, and ultimately in Fallout 5

The Brotherhood are back to being portrayed as the tech gathering first faction they were best known as. I always liked their pivot in FO3, using their power to help instead of just furthering their goals. Maximus wanting to be a paragon, along with the old guy leading them, will probably help do something similar.

Into I'm glad they are using the FO4 approach of the power armor. They did a great job giving them weight. A showdown with the Enclave and their Hellfire X-03 armor will be awesome!

I'm glad Vault-Tec is scumy as ever, and giving us the big players for them, Big MT, Repconn etc... sets up a lot of great storytelling opportunities .

I've played all the games too haha. I just meant that if others that played all the games are giving it the thumbs up then I'm more excited for it. I have kept my expectations measured but upon hearing a lot of others who also played the games(particularly the first two) saying they love it it is very encouraging.

I'm curious if Arthur Maxson is still alive by the point of the show.. given his trajectory in Fallout 4 (where hes reestablished contact with the Western BOS), you'd think he would already be high elder and there would be no talk of schisms as mentioned in the show.
