To this day it's still the most important fight in MMA HW history.
As a Pride fanboy (is it better to admit or no?) I agree, this fight was far too one-sided by Fedor, Crocop was mostly just surviving. Why is this considered a great performance? People act as it Fedor outstruck cro cop the whole fight but in reality Fedor did OK standing and layed on top of cro cop a lot.
Cause 70 pro combat bouts under his belt by that point. Not everyone started mma in their 30s like Couture and Romero, so by the time Mirko reached 35 he was basically 45 in fight years. If Cro Cop was so GOAT ....... explain how he was barely a journeyman in the UFC? It's not like he came to the UFC an was old .
The idea fedor had a stand up fight with cro cop to prove something is a myth though. Fedor definitively won because of all the time he beat up cro cop on the ground. That the stand up was close was a testament to him but he didn’t just chose to stand and trade.
lolWatch the fight again noob.
Fedor beat Mirko on the feet for the whole first 10 minute round when Mirko was fresh.
Mirko only got taken down once he was tired.
