News Francis Ngannou's MMA Return Vs Renan Ferreira + Co-Main: Cris Cyborg vs Larissa Pacheco Announced

Hands up..

Which of you will pay real money to watch this? Guess what.. He can’t pretend to be the “Baddest Man on the Planet” anymore.

Which is exactly why the UFC would NEVER allow him to box, on their dime.

If you don’t understand that, you need help.
UFC haters will pretend this isn't true.

Yes, Joshua is a monster PPV draw in the UK and Europe.
Weird how there's literally no numbers backing up this for his Francis fight.

You know, the one in question here.

Also PPVs in the UK are like $20. Lmao at using them.

Yes, and Joshua selling a couple million at a lower price is still a bigger draw than nearly anyone active in combat sports right now, aside form Canelo probably.

Not quite sure what you're debating here, it's not a very controversial position to say Joshua is a monster draw, and if he had lost and done a rematch, it would have been an even bigger draw than the first fight.

Why would they make it a ppv? Who is going to buy that? They should make it free...

Wait, you think Joshua actually sells 1.8M PPV buys if they were instead $90+???

Lol.

AJ would be a draw even if he was fighting a heavy bag, but Ngannou haters will say for this one fight he suddenly couldnt draw more than Jon Fitch.

Never mind an actual rematch where he lost to a 0-1 MMA novice

We don't have to imagine anything considering they're not releasing the numbers.

We all know it flopped.

What has an event not selling have to do with an event not selling?

Gee gosh whizz, you’re right that is a head scratcher.
An event can sell very well and still lose money. How the Saudis did is irrelevant given they have no interest in breaking even with these spectacles. All that mattesr is the buys and how they were cashed by the headliners. And both seemed to make out very well.

He does not. But when's the last time Connor fought? That's why I said active draws. Again, Joshua is a monster draw, debating that he isn't is absurd.

Yeah I'm just baffled at what these people are even arguing. All I said was, yeah, a rematch would have sold very well. That's like saying the sky is blue lol.

Just because Joshua or fighter x isn't the greatest draw of all time doesn't meant they still don't draw. Connor, Lesnar, Mayweather, etc., have really skewed people's perceptions.

You think it's absurd to think that a 4x price increase of his PPVs to normal prices wouldn't also result in a massive decrease in buys?

A 4:1 rate drops his highest ever PPV buy from 1.8M all the way down to only 450K.

Also Joshua/Ngannou was literally held at a time to maximize UK buys and they're not reporting shit on how well it did there. So make of that what you will.

I literally said buys would drop at US prices.

Which is an insane buy rate for an event built around UK PPVs and gate, not PPV-focused like a UFC tentpole event.

I'm not sure why you're writing off half a million buys as some small achievement in the modern entertainment landscape.
