That seems very petty. Overeem brought far more to cards than Arlovski does. You could have him headline a fight night or comain a PPV and have a guaranteed finish. Arlovski isn't even on the main card of this random fight night.

Great for Arlovski, seems like a good dude and it's not like he's not competitive in the HW division. It's a bit strange though that they cut Overeem - I think he was making maybe ~twice what Arlovski is making? But he for sure brought in viewers. No one is tuning in to watch Arlovski fight, but many are still interested in Overeem. Such a weird business decision - having Overeem in the mix would make the HW division a lot more exciting.

That guy is Andre Arlovski. The dude makes more than $300k every time he fights, and good for him for knowing his worth.

The guy is 45 years old, doesn’t talk trash, and probably doesn’t bring any extra viewers than if he wasn’t on the card. They have placed him on the prelims, so it’s not like they’re paying him a ton because he’s a “star attraction”.

The point I’m trying to make is that it’s just sad that UFC has now shrunk the fighter pay to 13% of their yearly earnings, when clearly they’re willing to pay. They’ve filled the roster with DWCS and TUF fighters making 10-15k per fight.

Good for Andre to get his bag, UFC is just being blatantly obvious that they can pay by putting this guy on the prelims while still paying him more than all the main card fighters combined.

Almost 25 years in the org and that's all they're paying him.

Well, I think TS point is to balance it somehow. It would be nice if new exciting fighters weren't stuck at 20-50 contracts for several years. TS doesn't seem any logic in paying AA on prelims 300 k show money.

They would have kept Reem if he was willing to take a pay cut like AA and become a gate keeper but he wanted the same pay so he got the snip.

the ufc should cut all the regional level guys, create some standard to get into the company.
then the minimal pay should be 50k, the fight nights should happen once a month.
this would make the product quality go up
