I thought that also, GSP talked years ago about putting on muscle to fight anderson, saying that the adjustments to your timing and pacing are going to take a lot of getting used too, so he wanted to put on the muscle slowly unlike jones. Also rogan i think it was, was saying in the walkouts last weekend that's the best jon we've seen physically which is true I guess in terms of looks but it didn't seem to translate that well into his grappling.
on paper he should of been able to use his grappling more effectively especially with this new "strength" jones is on about, and after easily handling DC's wrestling many thought a sub on osp was very possible. but in my opinion he looked much better against cormier, more of a fighters physique.
JDS is another example of this, he seems to of lost a bit of muscle mass which I think was a great career decision. the last few years JDS looked to big and plodding compared to his road to the title.
