Law George Santos to be charged

I wonder if he would have won despite the lying and deception?

There's a logical reason for this, and it's the idea that if someone attemtped to assume dictatorial power they cannot charge their opposition with crimes and then use those charges to remove them from office. Yes it sucks that people like Santos and that corrupt Democrat who recently got indicted seem to think this is insulation from legal accountability, but it's not. It's more of a fail safe, Santos being expelled, charged, and ultimately convicted demonstrates that the system CAN work, albeit I'd wager his persona and sexuality make it so that Republicans were fairly lukewarm about circling the wagons for him, that and that he defrauded the donor class, not the poor.
He defrauded the poor also though, as it happens.

Honestly, when I heard about this story, I was like... why hasn't he been removed from power and prosecuted?

It makes no sense that it's taken this long.
Because lots of those in power fear being held to a similar standard, obviously.

He's going to call it a witch hunt, hoax, etc. just like Trump. hell of a cult.
Post as many examples as you can find of people saying this.

Depends on how much pork barrel money he was able to send back to his district.

Since he was removed from his committees months ago, I have a feeling he hasn't been sending money or projects back to his district.

Even if he ran for reelection, he wasn't going to win.
