Help me understand credit cards

I don't think you can rent a car without a credit card unless you give them cash for the deposit. I like to pay for gas at the pump.

I've rented a car multiple times over the years and never had to give a cash deposit.

I don't even know what you're talking about. You have a credit limit. If you're under it, you can still use it.
