How would Pride freakshows do in today's HW division without weight limit?

Would've loved to see him fight in a steady weight class lol.
He wasnt that kind of fighter. He wasnt skilled enough to just stay at MW and try to beat the elite contenders there. Dude got Ko'd by Phil Baroni

His legs are too long. Thats really what it is. He really tried hard on his TDD but facts is facts, his legs are too fucking long.

I dont consider Schilt a "freakshow" fighter though. He could make 265.

Although he was actually pretty good as a sub fighter by the 00's to the degree I think it would be dangerous for a lot of modern HW's to try and take him down and at best they'd just get locked up and have to hope for a decision. The guys he was losing too back then tended to be world class grapplers like Nog, Barnett, Fedor and Sergei.

Sapp's peak was so short it was never clear just how good he actually was but still theres obviously a lot of potential there, guy who can beat K1 champs standing and showed a pretty good sub game to the degree he was pulling off armbars.

People like Zulu and Giant Silva were not considered elite HW's in Pride.

The game has just evolved too much. Those freakshow fighters would loose to almost every HW on the UFC roster today...with the possible exception of Semmy (who at least knew how to throw a punch). A more interesting question is: If Tom Aspinall jumped in a time machine and went back to 2003 in Japan, would he (instantly) become the PRIDE HW champion? Who could even even test him? or make it out of the 1st round against him?

Guy who was 350 lbs of muscle beating guys 100 lbs smaller.

If he was totally clueless though he would have gone down to Nog much faster, size alone isnt going to counteract submission ability and Sapp was working with Paulson/Barnett early on.

Weight classes and drug testing exist for a reason.

Size had plenty to do with it along with being very agile still but again I think you can see in the Nog fight he's a decent grappler, those together I could definately see Sapp manhalding submissions and we know he could hit hard.

Really though after the Crocop loss/injury Sapp was just in it for the money, not interested in serious comp anymore and by the mid/late 00's would go down the instant he took punishment.

Who would be an intriguing freakshow fight these days? Just curious.

Minowaman would be HW champion.
He would snap both Jones' legs and beat Gane because he has no ground game. Only Black Beast would be a problem with his "just stand up" Technique.

Gabi Garcia vs Amanda Nunes would’ve totally fit the bill before Nunes retired. Gabi vs Cyborg would even work now.
