If a fighter is fighting a hot prospect in the UFC, do not let it be close

Either finish him or win decisively because the one thing I noticed is when you fight someone like khazmat or a Sean o Malley or anyone that can draw money is when you let it go to the judges, whomever can draw money will win that decision no matter what. It doesn't matter if they used former MMA fighters as judges, at the end of the day UFC is a business and although Dana White won't admit it, I think the organization has a little influence on who gets the win. It sucks but that's the way it is.

It’s pretty obvious at this point, people need to understand it clearly extends beyond the actual fights though. Someone like Jared Gordon is easy to screw over, but at the higher level more shrewd tactics must be employed.

it’s in the negotiations, fight schedules, mind games and bs to keep certain fighters in limbo, etc. We saw this recently when Aljo fought 5 rounds with Henry then right after fights Sean with hardly enough time to actually be decently healthy and recovered before going right back into camp. With no time to truly gameplan for Sean. Unsurprisingly he runs right into a punch and gets stopped in a way we haven’t seen before.

The UFC wouldn’t offer certain guys a fight right after they just fought a five round war, they would protect their lucrative investment and wait to increase his/her odds of victory. One way you can sway a fight result is to make sure one fighter is obviously less prepared than the other, and because fighters can’t just turn down a fight offer without bs like potential contract extensions, you have someone like Aljo accept a fight on a horrible timeline.

As soon as Ngannou put up resistance to the UFC, he was immediately shit on and the UFC quickly found his replacement (Gane), it was so obvious through the promotion that they specifically picked Gane to be Ngannou’s toughest fight and potential loss.

This is a good read. Thank you for not being condescending or sarcastic

Cool. I already texted Dana about this.

You heard it here first!

Aljo didn't have to take the fight. Ur argument is flawed in that regard.

There are a few facts of life that cynical fight fans have to understand:
  • The UFC does not conduct unethical business practices.
  • The UFC has never attempted, successfully or otherwise, to persuade any judges.
  • Judges are always fair and impartial, and never accept anything in exchange for favorable decisions.
  • If a fighter has not tested positive for any PED, he or she is therefore completely clean in the past, present and future.

There is so much going on behind the scenes, remember when Dana bought Silva a Bentley so he wouldn’t retire? Historically significant MMA decisions are being made all the time under your nose.

Silva would go on to sell over a million PPV’s against a largely unknown Chris Weidman in the rematch, his popularity was peaking and the company did everything to keep him fighting.

Aljo has a documented tumultuous relationship with the UFC, he is on record stating he was frustrated over the quick turnaround. He fights a 5 round war and gets immediately booked 3 months later for a world title fight. The UFC is known for screwing you over if you say no, they can extend your contract, Dana can and will say publicly that you turned down the fight, the narrative changes and your labeled a duck in the media, hell we’ve even seen them create an interim like a couple months after Francis won it lmao.

The truth is the UFC didn’t want him as champion, and they did everything they could do to ensure he wasn’t gonna be the champion for long. They have a much larger influence than the public casual audience seems to believe.
