International If a War USA Vs The rest of the World happened, who would win it?

Some good points, but here another take on this.

The U.S spend more the the next 7 biggest spenders combined.



There are only 5 ways into the United States.
Two of those ways in are bordered by Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
You’re going up against the most formidable oceanic force ever to roam the globe.
The US Navy can project power anywhere on earth in just a few hours / days notice; this would be a firewall you simply could not penetrate, even with all of the rest of the globes forces combined.
That doesn’t even mention the use of the Coast Guard, who are no slackers.

The next way in is via airborne drops / landings with troops.
All right, again, good luck.
You’re going to get past NORAD with those planes, and then land them, and then do that hundreds or thousands of times to bring in enough troops?
Any invading air force will be shot down before it even can think about landing.
If by some miracle any do happen to get in, USCOM will track the forces, deploy counter-measures and they will be eliminated.

So that leaves you with two options: invasion by land through Mexico and Canada.

The US could quickly capture Mexico and create a choke point, either at the Guatemalan border, or, could further the choke-point with virtually no resistance through Central America, all the way to the Darien Gap. Nothing is getting through the Darien Gap.

So that leaves invasion through the Northern border with Canada.
Resistance in Canada would be slightly stiffer than in Mexico and yes, there would be casualties.
However, faced with that long of a border, which is virtually indefensible, it is better to capture and hold the entire country than to allow enemy forces to assemble and invade through the north.

I believe that Canada would surrender and join the U.S pretty quickly.

The U.S have more than enough oil for now,
And if Canada surrender, Natural ressources would be okay too.

If the world can't invade the U.S,
How could they win this war?
Going with Nuclear weapons?
The U.S also got more of those than the rest of the world.
At best, it would end in a Tie, probably resulting by the destruction of the planet earth.

Real: Noone wins, as soon as we realize we are in a losing position someone is catching that nuke and its game ovwr from there for everyone.
Semi-Real: If Nukes were disabled or removed from the picture. It would be close but possible. It would take a coordinated effort:
Iran and China attack our Navy brutally and without warning. Maybe some help from North Korea or Russia.
Russian troops invade from the North with assistance from European countries. South American Countries with the cartels engage in defensive tactics. Keep America out but dont invade.
Air Force is engaged by the combined effort of every air force in the world.
We would be brought to our knees.
Just like any invasion, the level of complete conquest would vary but we certainly could be beat. Dont expect it to be easy though.

It would be interesting to see who the Blacks/Mexicans would side with. The people who act as bullet sponge grunts in the Army/Marines are mostly Inbred Rednecks and ghetto inner city urban types who all hate each other.

Vietnam was a failure because the US government put restriction on how and where we could attack. Media coverage played a huge role as well. Take the leash off and Vietnam ends very differently.

We wouldn't be able to hold land due to lack of manpower that's for sure. The big question would be how we would do against a coordinated attack from the other major powers, assuming they can even work together. Now if we're talking about an invasion, I'm pretty sure we could push their shit in. We have an educated populace that is fairly well armed. Guerilla warfare on US soil put a serious hurting on any foreign invaders.

Id imagine guerilla warfare on US soil would be a serious issue for US forces.

Not sure if you mean US forces using guerilla tactics or foreign invaders. If it's the US, then we should be able to adapt pretty quick since we've had almost 20yrs of experience fighting that style, plus with the National Guard we also have the advantage of having a decentralized leadership and capabilities.

All the USA has to do is pull our navy, let the Middle East go into war and choke off the oil supply to the rest of the world.

Then start disrupting food exports.

All the USA has to do is pull its support from the navy.

The rest of the world relies so much on free trade over the oceans they would go under just from that.

USA owns the oceans. 10 times more firepower of the entire worlds navies combined.

USA has the largest arid agricultural land in the world. i.e. we don't need to import food if we don't want to. Most countries have to import a good portion of their calories. I believe it is larger than the next 3 (of similar quality) agricultural lands combined.

USA is a net oil exporter now. i.e. we have all are own oil. A simple by product of that is natural gas. We have so much we don't even know what to do with it. Mexico imports almost all their natural gas from the USA.

The USA, as a percentage of GDP, has the lowest percentage in imports and exports of ANY modern country in the world. And half of it is between Canada and Mexico. We can take a hit where other countries can't.

Canada, Mexico and the USA could basically go inclusive and there would be world wide famine and war as countries scrambled for food and energy on oceans they have no power in.

We have no neighbors that are a threat. Oceans to our sides. Canada and Mexico rely heavily on the USA. It pays to be neighbors with the USA.

And to top it all off, we are one of the only Western or Asian countries with a large amount of young people, i.e. consumers. Most countries are completely up shit creak because they don't have enough young people to support their future country as a much larger amount of old people grow old etc.....This is going to really hurt other countries economies.

Just demography alone is going to crush the economies of many countries over the next 10-20 years.

I don't think people understand just how powerful the USA is.

The USA is the ONLY superpower in the entire world.

USA engages in a "reverse siege" of the world where they cut themselves off and begins their internal war machine. Once the Bretton Woods system collapses, the global economy basically slows down. As outlined, the USA can self sustain itself a lot longer. Canada has the longest land border but has a massive strategic weakness in concentration of their population. They would need to be annexed as a buffer state with a puppet government. Same with Mexico.

Even if occupational forces landed, they would have to fight the equivalent of 50 Vietnam Wars at once, considering the US population has a mythos of overthrowing tyrannical foreign power (our revolutionary war) as well as more guns than any other civilian population on Earth by far.

EDIT: I would also add that the USA by far dominates in soft power. Oh, we're at war? How about any time an IP address from a foreign country goes on youtube, they are flooded with propaganda. Oh, you're population likes movies? Check out this new Hollywood biopic with Matt Damon beating up your country's president. Oh, your country needs engineers? Too bad you cannot access universities in the USA anymore
