Is Ortega still the man to beat Khabib?

Only sensible post on here. Offensive submissions are extremely overrated in general at the elite level in modern day (when is the last time you saw a title fight end in an armbar?) and Khabib is an excellent defensive grappler who leaves virtually no gaps so no... he is not getting submitted. You'd think Cub Swanson was Jacare with the way people hype Ortega's bjj game... ridiculous
 
Ortega subbed who? 9 submission loss Swanson? Khabib smashes Ortega 11/10 times.

Sherdoggers have never grappled a day in their life, much less against a sambo and top control wizard like Khabib. To them it's as simple as one guy fight from top on ground and other guy fight from bottom on ground and get lots of submissions (but they fail to account how inferior those opponents he submit are to Khabib).
 
He'd get MAULED.

Khabib isn't going to get subbed by anyone. He is never even close to being in a bad position on the ground.

It is hard to sub someone who is standing over you in side control punching your face and smashing you into the cage
 
It has always been Ferguson. Until Khabib beats him, that's the man, that's the fight. Ortega would be a interesting match up regardless of today's fight, but not nearly as much as Ferguson.
 
I like Ortega seems like a nice enough guy.

Shit would be worse than this.
 
It would look like the Iaquinta fight more than anything. A good grappler with decent striking.
Ortega would wilt just like Ragin Al did. Khabib's grappling is on another level than Ortega's.
Khabib's top game is too much even for Ortega.
 
Drowning men clutch at straws .. ortega is a hypejob he gets beat up every fight
 
This is a perfect example of styles making fights. Ortega couldn't handle a guy like Max with an excellent standup game and Max wasn't about to go to the ground willingly. Khabib would take him down like he does everyone and the ground is Orega's biggest strength.
 
I´d like to inform all of you that Kebap is not as good as you think he is, he has beaten Conor and thats it. Conor is drug addict who once up on a time was good fighter #Hamdudelha
 
the best chance at the moment is Tyron Woodley , Askren or Tony Ferguson.
Since they are all equally Welterweights...

Tony is lightweight, but he is a natural Welterweight (TUF)
 
Khabib doesn't let people "play guard". Ortega would get smeshed.

Yes. He’s a way better striker than Khabib and Khabib can’t really do anything to him in the ground. Styles make fights 101.
 
Rafael Dos Anjos is a third degree black belt,ask him if he minded getting thrown around like a laundry bag by 2013 khabib.
