Realistically Conor is never gonna stand and bang with Gaethje and wants nothing to do with Cerrone or TFerg. He had his chance to sign the dotted line against all of these guys and passed hard.

Going to the ground is what Khabib does. He does every fight and he does it better than every other LW in UFC history.

Donald is a kickboxer, with good subs, and decent wrestling. Justin is a brawling kickboxer, who almost never uses his wrestling offensively. There is no comparison to Khabib.

Conor has good takedown defense and is decent grappler. He did better on the ground vs Khabib, than everybody else. People forget that Conor had only fought in 1 boxing match, in the previous 2 years, before his fight with Khabib.

McGregor is sitting back in hopes that Cerrone knocks off Ferguson and Porier knock off Khabib.

He would rather fight Poirier, Cerrone and Diaz over Ferguson and Khabib.

Absolutely nothing, but it isn't about "deserving." It makes too much sense for everyone. Khabib's pride is soothed by not giving McGregor an immediate title shot. The UFC/ESPN gets to cash in on Conor. Ferguson/Cerrone winner gets to cash in on Conor. Conor gets a fight that makes him relevant again that's at least more winnable than Khabib.

Looking at from all perspectives, it just seems like an obvious decision by the ufc. Conor has got his own things to deal with and he only wants khabib, but things got interesting for a while when he was talking about fighting cerrone.

Tony is back though and if you miss out on his hype right now, thats losing money right there. So superdad cerrone wins against iaquinta, tony is back, poirier is fighting khabib, and conor still begging for that khabib fight. Khabib won't play ball until Mcgregor earns it lol

So who wouldn't settle for this option? Out of all the top guys, cerrone and tony are stylistically the best matchups for conor and either would earn him a shot at khabib again. Thats all the ufc wants as well. Winner of tony/cerrone fights conor in october, then winner of that fights khabib/poirier winner in december just like khabib wanted as well. If khabib is still champ by end of year, give the man his gsp fight in April..

conor took the fixed boxing fight cause he was ducking khabib.

cowboy and justin arent stupid and know that the best want to beat conor is putting him on his back and grinding him out.

I feel like Conor might not be worth his asking price anymore. He will sell some fights but his shine has worn off. He doesn’t need the money so he will need to want to fight if we are going to see him again.
