Khamzat being "green"

Huh? Everyone was talking about Gane being green and only needing to fix his TDD to be the Champ.
This. Everyone knows Gane is green, he's only been training and fighting mma for a few years as well. He does have muay thai background but he's green to mma.

Yes he is but the talk about him being "green" is an aphid's bleat compared to the collective howl heard on Sherdog regarding Khamzat

Seems like everyone was saying Gane is green in the grappling dept after his last fight....

Majority rules. Some still do. Those are the fans fighters want, as well as real fans of fighters, who will support win or lose. But the second he lost and wasn't the guy to derail Francis' supposedly one dimensional, Ford Escort Punching Power hype, people hopped off that wagon quick. Fighters don't want those fans anyway. I liken it to the Jones and Silva effect, however.
At last... give a like on the OP !

It's just because of the hype and attention, Khamzat got more of it because of how his previous fights ended. Khamzat was finishing fights quickly and Gane was getting decisions. So naturally more people will be talking about Khamzat vs talking about Gane. Also Khamzat won his last fight and Gane lost his, so that's also another reason.

Gane is a Muay Thai guy. He had more than a dozen fights. He is new to MMA but he has experience fighting for almost ten years now. Maybe it is his age or upbringing vs Khamzat's but his demeanor towards fighting is very mature. He follows the gameplan and very calm when he fights. I don't think I seen him fight emotionally or actively force the knockout while jeopardizing himself. He doesn't have this smash/kill everyone mentally. It's more of a game where he avoids your strikes and tags you. His moniker fits him well. He doesn't really trash talk his opponents and seems to be a well adjusted person.

Yes I agree.
One needs to underline the inordinate coping going on as well, which is an offshoot of the hype you mentioned.
Gane is even more "green", I'd argue. No combat sports experience prior to 24 years of age.
Both great fighters irregardless. One's champ material, the other clearly on the way there

He has zero combat sports experience prior to 24, but I do agree with the rest of your points

gane had already beat some of the top guys in the division.

Not near as much as you guys talk about Khamzat being green
Well of course there is going to be more talk about the more popular fighter. No disrespect to Gane but personality wise he is one of the most boring fighters in the ufc

It's in the way he fought. Never took his head off the center line, brawled with sloppy looking lead uppercut. He needs to refine his striking and defense. His wrestling is legit but he didn't really use it and as a result we saw holes in his striking.

He has 8 years of fighting experience. It's almost 1/3 of his life. Even someone like Big Frank is sort of new to MMA.

TS are ok?

you are comparing a fighter who lost (Gane) to a fighter who won (khazmat) and saying why didn’t the loser get similar respect?

for one be lost and secondly he doesn’t have the generational skill set the other has

Well, since people compare him to Khabib:

Khabib said his prime is 2015-2021, which means when he was between 26-32. And Khamzat is 27, so he needs to be on his prime if you compare him to Khabib.

But again, everyone is different, look at Glover, even though he is definitely an outlier. His prime came much later.
I don't think just because Glover won the belt means he's in his prime...

Think the division just kind of had a bunch of weaker guys at the top and he got some good matchups... Guys like Cutelaba, busted knees Santos, Anthony Smith, Nikita Krylov (who he may have even lost to)... Jan was his best win on the run (for the belt no less)

In Glover's prime, he had to fight Rumble, Gustafsson, Phil Davis, Bader (who he beat)...
and JON JONES was the only reason he didn't win the belt.

I'm perfectly fine, Shermano.
As a sentient being with enough brain mass to wonder about these things, you see.
