Long post: Why does Jon Jones Make All The Worst Decisions In Life, But Can't Stop Winning At MMA?

Extreme narcissists are often incredibly successful in their field of work. They also often have fucked up personal lives and do a lot of things that most people would consider immoral and unethical. It's the same traits that lead to both things (high sense of self importance, need for attention and admiration, inflated ego, delusions of grandeur, etc). It's not really all that shocking that a narcissist like Jon Jones is unbelievably successful in MMA while also regularly getting into trouble outside the Octagon. It also helps that he's just naturally extremely athletic with the perfect frame for MMA.

His decision to wait until Francis was out of the picture was one of his smartest decisions.
Youve been gone for the last month??

Francis walked away from the Jones fight. Highest pay ever for a HW and he just, walked.....

Alot of fighters are/were dirtbags.

i dont know
thats why he is one in a million or maybe 1 in a billion

Because uncontrollable aggression and lack of impulse control help in fighting but not so much in real life.

Jon reminds me of Diego Maradona. A fucking genius in his chosen sport of competition but a very flawed individual in many other aspects of life. Both goats of course.

I mean he beats people up in a cage... it's not like they have to be nice guys to be successful in this field...

The amount of shit he did just testify how good of an athlete he is, the guy is truly gifted

Theyre not comparable fields of "decision-making". One is very short, narrowly defined activity, with clear objectives, rules, and consequences. Jone's has a huge ego, and is so afraid of damaging that ego that he "studies" very hard to ensure he won't lose.

The other is just "Life". And, unlike in the octagon, where you only have to make good decisions for 25 minutes; the "evils" of life tempt you constantly and forever; there is also no clear "goal": impulses and gratification take over eventually.

Where things intercept and fuck Jones up is when "life" decisions affect his "in ring outcomes"; e.g. partying/doing coke before a fight.

It's not like immorality makes up for better fighting skills. The guy just naturally have the instinct to win inside the cage

Reverse Karma situation?
Can you name another athlete like this?

Babe Ruth was a HoF level pitcher & outfielder who was known for fast living& confidence that bordered on cockiness. Even after MLB integrated he’s still the only HoF level pitcher & outfielder. In other words he arguably is the GOAT regardless of his sports’ evolution thereafter.

Marlon Brando was a diva, had gotten fat, and was notorious for not remembering his lines.

Dear Sherbros,
Sorry for the wall of text.
How can Jon Jones
Piss hot for cocaine, get arrested for domestic violence (just 18 months ago), get multiple DUI's, headbutt cop cars, discharge deadly weapons while drunk, get probation violations, pulse like a throbbing ****, leave the scene of the accident concerning a pregnant lady while on drugs, and more.
But then, seem to do everything right inside the cage.
If you reap what you sew or what comes around goes around, should he have been KO'd by now?
Really crazy how he beats all these high-level fighters while doing drugs, acting like an a-hole, and doing all the wrong things, but he still wins.
Breasts,

Because he is entitled and uses violence to get what he wants.

Breasts,
It's almost like...different actions result in different outcomes.
Regardless of your feelings about them.
Shocking, I know.

seems like the perfect person to lock in a cage and be a great fighter.................

Francis admitted he was offered the Jones fight for 8 million. He turned it down
