he was in 1996 but maybe not in 1991...Eh.
Holyfield is always Tysons worst matchup. I think both at their very best is as 50/50 as you get.

who!!!! they were terrified of Tyson because he was a wrecking ball, holyfield went the distance with 2 grandads HOLMES & FOREMAN..BERT COOPER!!!! were Spinks and Holmes,Bonecrusher,Pinklon Thomas,Berbick shit...go back to bed<45>Both in their primes, either a close decision win or TKO for Holyfield. As earlier mentioned Holyfield was never gonna be a good stylistic match up for Mike, especially with how durable he is.
Also the HW division when Mike was running through it was shite! Half the guys getting in with Tyson had lost before a punch was thrown, they were intimidated. Frank Bruno was visibly terified in both fight imo. Holyfield had to fight far better guys when he was champ than Mike did
Question is “prime for prime”. So at their very best forms, Holyfield is the worst matchup possible for Tyson. However, Tyson at his best was a once in a lifetime, generational type fighter. His best output is just terrifying.he was in 1996 but maybe not in 1991...
LOLWhy are we discussing Tyson with white belts again. Prime Tyson was a bad man. Nobody has an easy night with him.
John ruiz is shit.
from 85 to 89...can you not see him overwhelming Holy with the level he was fighting atQuestion is “prime for prime”. So at their very best forms, Holyfield is the worst matchup possible for Tyson. Sure. I said peak for peak its 50/50. That doesnt change the fact that Holyfield is the worst type of fight for Tyson. Hes like a tailor made fighter to take down Tyson.from 8

HOLY was tailor made for Tyson in 1991...he lacked the size, power and experience to trouble himSure. I said peak for peak its 50/50. That doesnt change the fact that Holyfield is the worst type of fight for Tyson. Hes like a tailor made fighter to take down Tyson.
why not... grandads Holmes & Forman took HOLY the distance..its anybodys at boths primeIn a clean fight I think prime Tyson sleeps him but no way in hell would a prime Holy fight clean. It would be headbutts and elbows and clinches of all kinds. Wear him down with wrestling and bleed him out as much as he could then he would start actually fighting when Tyson looks tired.
Necro-likedPrime for prime both guys end up on a stretcher. I can see either win 5 fights out of 10.
funny thing about Mike though (most heavyweights really) I was watching his Holmes fight, a fight included in his "peak era" and he was throwing 30 punches in some rounds, that's not enough punches for a guy like Holyfield. He did manage to fight entire fights at a good clip in his pre-douglas career but I don't recall seeing him ever throwing a lot of punches. He just didn't get exhausted like he did in the Douglas/Holyfield/Lewis fights.Prime for prime both guys end up on a stretcher. I can see either win 5 fights out of 10.
Tyson wins if Holyfield wasn't allowed to cheat. He should've been DQ'd 5 times for the first fight and 3 times in the second.
people tend to remember highlight Mike, he was fantastic in short bursts and fought a LOT of guys who were of dubious quality under some suspicious circumstancesfunny thing about Mike though (most heavyweights really) I was watching his Holmes fight, a fight included in his "peak era" and he was throwing 30 punches in some rounds, that's not enough punches for a guy like Holyfield. certainly, my biggest criticism of Mike in all his incarnations was that he did not learn or even try to fight at a lighter pace, like every other boxer in history. You can't put 100 percent into everything and fight a whole fight. Manny was about the biggest freak in that regard I've ever seen but even he doesn't throw as many as I would think when I go back and look. Power, speed, pace all need to be varied. The secret to Ali's being able to regularly throw roughly a hundred punches around was he knew how to relax and didn't really try to kill anyone until he felt like it. Marciano wasn't quite like that, he looked to try to clobber with every punch and he'd throw well over 100 punches a round which attests to those six month training camps and inhuman discipline and monklike focus.people tend to remember highlight Mike, he was fantastic in short bursts and fought a LOT of guys who were of dubious quality under some suspicious circumstances
i have a book about it and its a very good read
Evander was all wrong for Tyson, regardless of which version. KO 5 doesn't sound realistic. It's going the distance and Evander probably shades it.
