Naomi Watts is Trapped in a Wintry Nightmare in SHUT IN Trailer

Shut-In-Naomi-Watts-090116-Dragonlord.jpg

Who would’ve thought that Jacob Tremblay, the 9-year-old boy who broke our hearts in Room only to them steal them later through his adorable quirks, would’ve found a niche in horror and suspense. The actor terrifies a family with all-too-real nightmares Before I Wake, and now the new trailer for Shut In has arrived to shown him pushing Naomi Watts to the brink of insanity as a ghost child.

The trailer sees Watts as a child psychologist named Mary. She lost her husband in a freak car accident that also left her son (played by Stranger Things’ Charlie Heaton) in a vegetative state. It’s during this time that she takes on a new client, a boy named Tom (Tremblay), whom she takes into her home as a foster child. However, after he races off into the wintry night and is presumed dead, Mary believes he has come back to haunt her. Is he really a ghost? Is he really dead? Is this all in her head?

Shut In is directed by Farren Blackburn (Hammer of the Gods) from a screenplay by Christina Hodson, and also features Oliver Platt as Mary’s therapist. The film is scheduled for release on November 11th.

Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer is plotting a return to the big screen with a starring role in the upcoming Mel Gibson/Sean Penn drama The Professor and the Madman, EW has confirmed.

Stanley Tucci Confirms His Return for TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT

Stanley-Tucci-Transformers-Last-Knight-Dragonlord.jpg

Stanley Tucci, who was in Deauville to receive a career tribute on Saturday, will reprise his role as Joshua Joyce in Michael Bay’s Transformers: The Last Knight.

While in Deauville, Tucci confirmed his character, Joyce, the anti-hero of Transformers: Age of Extinction, will be back in the next installment of the franchise which has just started shooting with Mark Wahlberg, Laura Haddock and Anthony Hopkins.

Tucci is one of the few American stars who made the trip to Deauville this year. Bruno Barde, the festival’s artistic director, said the recent attacks have had an impact on attendance. Another factor is timing as Deauville is sandwiched between Venice and Toronto film festivals which lure some of the biggest U.S. indie films and talent.

Relativity's THE CROW Reboot to Begin Production in January

Relativity-The-Crow-Dragonlord_1.jpg

Relativity’s The Crow reboot will begin production this January, multiple individuals have confirmed to TheWrap.

News broke last month that Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) was in talks to star in the reboot, which Colin Hardy is directing. Momoa recently posted a photo of himself with Hardy to Instagram with the hashtag “#sealthedeal.”

The Crow reboot will be a new adaptation of James O’Barr’s cult classic comic book that was originally adapted for the 1994 film starring Brandon Lee and directed by Alex Proyas.

Like the original, the story follows Eric Draven, a murder victim who returns from the dead, seeking vengeance on those who murdered him and his fiancée with the help of a mystical bird.

However, rather than a recreation of Proyas’ film, The Crow reboot is said to be a more faithful adaptation of the comic book source material.

Relativity is emerging from bankruptcy and The Crow reboot is a priority project for the studio as it looks to rebuild its reputation in Hollywood.

First Intense, Action-Packed Trailer for Iko Uwais' HEADSHOT

Headshot-Iko-Uwais-090716-Dragonlord.jpg

The new action-thriller Headshot was directed by Timo Tjahjanto and Kimo Stamboel, creators of 2009’s deranged horror film Macabre, and stars Iko Uwais, who portrayed the main cop in 2011’s hyper-violent The Raid and its equally mayhemic sequel 2014 sequel.

The film finds Uwais playing a nameless man who wakes up in a hospital with severe head trauma, not knowing who he is or what happened to him. Assisted by a student doctor Ailin (Chelsea Islan), who nicknames him “Ishmael” after the character in Moby Dick, he recovers and tries to regain his memory. But Ishmael’s past catches up to him, in the form of Lee (Sunny Pang), a drug lord and gang boss whose tentacles reach deep into the police and the penal system. When Ailin is kidnapped and Ishmael sets out to get her back, he finds himself pitted against an array of skilled fighters who may have been his former colleagues.

Headshot is premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival this week and opens in Indonesia on December 16th, there’s no US release date yet.

Johnny Depp to Star in Notorious B.I.G.-Tupac Thriller LABYRINTH

Johnny-Depp-Notorious-BIG-Tupac-Dragonlord.jpg

After playing gangster Whitey Bulger in last year’s Black Mass, Johnny Depp is once again taking on a true-life figure, this time on the opposite side of the law.

Depp is attached to play Detective Russell Poole, the Los Angeles police detective who investigated the murders of rappers Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur, in Labyrinth, sources have confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

Brad Furman, the Lincoln Lawyer helmer, is attached to direct the project, which hails from Good Films, the company behind Bryan Cranston crime drama The Infiltrator.

Christian Contreras wrote the screenplay adapting Labyrinth: A Detective Investigates the Murders of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G., the Implication of Death Row Records' Suge Knight, and the Origins of the Los Angeles Police Scandal.

Poole was a decorated detective who spent months investigating the murder of B.I.G., real name Christopher Wallace, eventually coming to believe that a group of “gangsta cops in his own force were not only involved but were also tied to Death Row Records and the Bloods street gang." The result was confrontations with the LAPD police chief and culminated with Poole going into early retirement in protest.

Although his turn in Black Mass netted some of his strongest reviews in years, Depp has endured a difficult summer inside and outside the theater, with his ongoing and very public divorce to Amber Heard and starring in one of the summer’s biggest bombs, Alice Through the Looking Glass.

Booster-Gold-DC-Extended-Universe-Dragonlord.jpg

In May 2016, news broke that DC Comics television producer extraordinaire Greg Berlanti is working on a Booster Gold movie.

Fans of Booster Gold and Berlanti’s DC Comic television work were exciting to hear that the light-hearted character and the mind behind The CW’s television universe would both be coming to the DC Extended Universe. However, it turns out that’s not exactly the case.

Speaking to Vulture, Berlanti revealed that the Booster Gold movie will not be a part of the DC Extended Universe. "As of right now we have no connective tissue to those worlds," Berlanti said. "It'd be a separate thing."

Berlanti also added that the idea for a Booster Gold movie came after a Booster Gold television project “never got off the ground.”
