This same mindset is what is responsible for the completely artificial crime spikes in the US too.

We're trying to push for the rights of accused criminals in a state that has an absolutely useless criminal justice system and poor institutions in general. This is not as if Sweden was just choosing to ignore human rights, Latin America writ large doesn't have the wherewithal to handle crime like the US can (when we feel like it)

I'm not the one to advocate for dictatorship since they don't have a self-correcting mechanism - The guy who fixes the country today will not simply relinquish power once he starts doing a bad job - but it isn't something that has zero place in the world either.

My son and his friends are wrestlers and football players, so they do not have issues. But the El Salvadorians fight each other daily. They never fuck with the locals. Just each other. But they say its brutal. Cops there every day. Local parents are going nuts and want them sent away, but hey that's racist lol. I am glad my son graduates this year. You can't take violent people from one area and put them in another and expect peace. I don't care if it is racist or not....we should not allow any young single males in from Anywhere in large groups. Families? Fine. Women? Fine. Children? Ok. But not young males.

What about the Soviet and Cuban government involvement in supporting the Marxist rebels? They also had part in destabilizing the country. Also when the former rebels took over the country they actually supported the gangs with money and made secret truces for votes. They ended making the problem even worse.
