November 2018 Election: Your Local Ballot

U.S. Rep. Mike Coffman (R), incumbent, vs Jason Crow, a lawyer and former U.S. Army Ranger (D): Voting for Crow

The rest is boring state crap, but these two piqued my interest.

Amendment 73 Originally called Initiative 93. A ballot measure that would change the state’s constitution focusing on public funding for education. Voters will decide whether to raise taxes on corporations and wealthy people to raise $1.6 billion for schools. The ballot would also fund full-day kindergarten and increase funding for preschools with special needs. Tax raises are always controversial in Colorado, which requires any increases to go before voters because of TABOR.: Voting yes.

Amendment A: A measure to remove language from the state constitution that still makes it technically legal for slavery and involuntary servitude to be used as a punishment for a crime (yikes). It would remove a sentence from Article 11, Section 25 of the state’s constitution that allows for this as a form of punishment and outlaws it under any circumstances. A similar and poorly-written version measure in 2016 led to some confusion that ultimately led it to be rejected by voters.: LOL

If democrats fail to take the house how big will their meltdown be compared to 2016? It would be great to see it happen for the entertainment value alone. MAGA!

The state of Florida writes amendments that trick you. They try this shit every time and then get busted doing it. So an actual no vote on Amendment 3 means you want Casino's.
Disney and the Seminole Indian Tribe are behind this one. Disney is afraid Casinos will take parents away from the park. They need to sell 12 dollar turkey legs with 4 dollar bottle of waters in order to release another Star Wars EU that fucking bombs. The Seminole Tribe has the Hard Rock Casinos in Florida and they just want to protect their monopoly.
This is how 99% of government operates. They will gladly fuck the voters for the lobbyists.
As someone who is considered upper middle class and small business owner, I constantly feel like I am in a gang bang. I got my politicians fucking me, and lobbyist fucking me. Every policy is designed for someone poorer or richer than me, while I get my asshole pounded.
We voted for weed (Over 60% yes votes) and the dickheads in Tallahassee attached a bunch of regulations to it, because everyone in Politics are like Feinstein and Grassley, they are fucking 100 years old and think weed makes blacks rape white women all the while taking money from any Pharmaceutical that will give it to them.

I'm registering and voting for the first time in my life against Florida's Soros funded "progressive" future card carrying party member running for governor.

Fingers crossed these retards stay far away from any power.
How are you voting on Amendment 3?

Did the same as TS. Voted D all the way down in early voting and didn’t vote in the 1 or 2 races where a D wasn’t running. Was very tough to vote for J.B. fucking Pritzker but I did anyway. Not proud of it but I cannot vote R under any circumstances like I used to.

My local ballot has two Democrats for U.S. Senate. One is a has-been scumbag that has enriched herself to become one of the wealthiest politicians in America, and wants to ban all guns (Diane Feinstein). The other is a whack job Mexican Socialist that wants open borders and a welfare state.

Welcome to California! No Republican choice on the ballot for U.S. Senate.

Boo hoo. Haha

Voting for Lyin Ted and FOR the ACC bill which basically raises taxes to update infrastructure.

Fuck, moving from NJ to Texas makes you actually realize how much extreme deregulation sucks.

There are still smoking sections in some restaurants here. Last one I saw was Waffle House.

There was a full indoor smoking ban competing with this one (exemptions for casino/bars/clubs) but a judge threw it out on a technicality because it would have really hurt businesses.

You deserve it for going to Waffle House

3 easy "Yes" ballot initiatives for me.
  • A proposed initiated law to authorize and legalize possession, use and cultivation of marijuana products by individuals who are at least 21 years of age and older, and commercial sales of marijuana through state-licensed retailers
  • A proposed constitutional amendment to establish a commission of citizens with exclusive authority to adopt district boundaries for the Michigan Senate, Michigan House of Representatives and U.S. Congress, every 10 years
  • A proposal to authorize automatic and Election Day voter registration, no-reason absentee voting, and straight ticket voting; and add current legal requirements for military and overseas voting and post-election audits to the Michigan Constitution

Also up is the governor, state attorney general, a US Senate seat, a US House of Representatives seat and a bunch of lower offices. Haven't really studied their individual positions on gun rights yet.

I like the thread idea for local ballot items @Fawlty

Doesn't seem my district has any measures on its ballet, but they've always interested me and I wish there were more things like that so people have a more direct say in what happens where they live
