now in Florida: wild monkeys spreading lethal herpes to humans

This isn’t the same herpes virus that we’re all familiar with, i.e herpes simplex virus 1 & 2. Herpes is a family of viruses that encompasses much more than that. In that sense, that headline seems sensational. I’m not a microbiologist, but it’s probably not spread to humans from monkeys via sex.

a) the article in the OP says it's spread in non-sexual methods
b) human herpes is spread by non-sexual methods
c) it's a type of herpes that is hosted in monkeys and causes a mild irritation in them, but is lethal to humans

This just seems wrong

It was very real. They have a big problem with Macaque monkeys in Delhi. So they have this big international sports competition coming in and the cops are like, "no problem. we've got a solution for all of those monkeys. We've got trained bigger monkeys that are going to beat the shit out of those smaller monkeys".

@Clippy, what did you do this time?

Great explanation. You should supplement OP with it.

You can't get the herpes if you just get oral from them. Handjobs are cool too.

Just relax.
