Serious question, if Hardcan wins a single chip does that move him into 3rd and Wad into 4th (given lengths of prime and both being the best player for one chip).

The players today are better. Nostalgia blinds the fuck out of most people, they remember the absolute best and forget everything else.

Truthfully all that’s needed is the eye test, watch a regular season game from the 80s / 90s, then watch a current one. The speed and skill of the current NBA is evident immediately.

Also, regarding the style of play... this is the evolution of basketball. It happens in many sports.

People hate on Floyd Mayweather, they don’t like his style... But what they don’t realize is what they actually hate is the sport of boxing being performed at its highest level. Mayweather was incredible at winning boxing matches according to boxing rules. It’s that simple, you don’t have a problem with Mayweather you have a problem with boxing.

So if you can’t get with times then you just don’t like Basketball... and if you think a 90s style team could compete in today’s NBA, then you’re clearly fucking retarded since you’d be insinuating that teams don’t want to win games.

Recency bias is a hell of a drug. 96 Bulls would light up any team in the league right now. People seem ready to crown the Clippers, but you think Beverly is getting to prime MJ? You think Pippen couldn't stifle PG?

Seriously Harden dropped 50 on Pat Bev and people dont even see him as a top 5 player in the league rn. The undisputed GOAT wouldnt be able to hang though because centers like KAT and Embuust can shoot 3s though. Never mind the fact KAT is shatting 40% from 3 on 8.5 attempts a game and is in the gutter.

Brook Lopez became a competent 3 point shooter, but there is no way anyone on the Bulls could ever..

So you take arguably the greatest team of all time with the greatest player ever... and then you compare them to the unproven Clippers, James Harden and Brook Lopez?

That’s your reasoning for why 90s NBA > current NBA?

Put Kyrie in the 90s and those extreme handles and breakdowns go bye bye. Its much harder to dance on your defenders when they can reach out and grab, push, and hold you. And weve all seen over the years what just a little bit of physicality does to Stephs game.

Harden would need to win a chip as the best player on his team

Which wont ever happen

Lol Kyrie would get superstar calls and go to the line just as much as everyone else did back then

Btw @HunterSdVa29

How do you feel about Scottie Pippen as a player?
Very good defender, well extremely good
Never a true number 1 offensive option due to lack of consistent shooting and handling. His career high, even without Jordan was 22ppg.
He shot 70% from FT for a career, wasnt a closer and famously benched himself against the Knicks bc Jackson correctly chose Kukoc for the shot

Tbh, he was Andrew Wiggins with heart and thus much better D, but less finesse to his offense

Prime Gerald Wallace was a pretty apt comparison IMO, not quite the defender, but similar skills offensively

According to you no teams from the past could hang with today. Like 01 Lakers would be trash cans because they feature the post up. Brook Lopez shooting 3s >> Shaq because the 3 is more efficient!!1!

Give it a rest and clean the cum out of your hair for fuck sake.

Anyone from the 80s and 90s that can run, dribble, play defence and shoot decent could develop a 3 point shot given the context of how important it becomes to winning

John stockton would school pretty much any pg these days

Kevin johnson would make westbrick and lillard his bitches

John Stockton's entire career was built on the pick and roll, exposing the man to man mandatory defense of the 90s. With the addition of help D and advanced coverage, he likely wouldn't lead the league in assists. Different Gamez different era. Sure, him and Malone were revolutionary in that sense, but both benefited greatly from the rules of the era

He literally had no left hand

Go watch Stockton clips, theres whole vids on it

You only needed one hand without help D. Just keep you're back to the defender and wait for a screen .

I think the 90s were shit, but put someone like Kawhi in 1994 and he is in his glory. Single man defense. Mid range. Would be GOAT
