Overeem to Bellator with another KO loss?

They will probably cut him. He makes waaaaaaaaaaayyyyy too much money per fight. The UFC can't keep paying in champion-level salary only to have him get starched.

It's a hard call. On one hand, he's still a very talented fighter and still very clearly a top ten heavyweight. He was four seconds away from beating Jair, and being on a three fight win streak. Plus, heavyweight isn't exactly a constant revolving door of fresh talent.

On the other hand, his name carries a hefty price tag that I'm not sure the UFC is going to be willing to pony up for again, especially after the massive loss of live gate revenue.

Very tough call.

UFC fighters are paid like shit.

the UFC pays so little of revenue to fighters that keeping or cutting Reem makes absolutely no difference to the economics of the company

it just doesn't. the math is simple

the UFC may decide that they could pay another fighter even less and not impact revenue but these threads about "fighter x is too expensive" are such bullshit. UFC fighters are only too expensive to the extent that the UFC valuation is based mostly on controlling employee (sorry, independent contractor) costs at a fraction of other spots

They wont cut Overeem. He's a decent enough draw where he can headline Fight Nights against up and coming fighters and give them a highlight real
