The Nazis were hyper-nationalist and while initially they came to fruition due to unfair war debts being laid upon them by the allies after WW1, and the dangerous rise of Bolshevik Marxism in Russia, ultimately, they went to far and helped bring hell to most of Europe.
That being said, the #1 fear of the Marxist left is nationalism - it's something they despise. The US helped the Marxists by destroying the Nazis first (the lesser evil of the two in the long run), and right away the Trotsky led Marxists embedded themselves into western pillars; education, fashion, culture, media, banking.
The result has been the eradication of nationalism in the hearts of millions in America and Europe. The Bolshevik scum in antifa view anyone with any sense of nationalism as a "Nazi" and it will continue because, it seems, the West has resigned itself to hating itself and wanting its own death.
It truly was a good run for the West, but we defeated the wrong enemy first in WW2.
