Yeah, heard that one.

Howard Wilkinson (or was it Kendall) asked for him. Was told to jog on. Then SAF told Martin Edwards to cheekily enquire about Eric as a semi joke….and the deal got done in an hour.
'Twas Howard. The last manager who ever won whatever they called PL before it became PL

Makes you think how long the Saudi's will keep Eddie Howe

Ah ok.

It kinda depends on the point of view, though. A neutral sees Italy missing two consecutive WCs and having few if any top stars as embarrassing. Meanwhile, England gets much more respect because of its individual talent and deep runs

But I understand that English fans are absolutely starving for titles so...

Recent Italy is the epitome of how overrated International football is tbh (in terms of standard not prestige).

Win a couple of penalty shootouts the difference between glory and mediocrity.

Same with Argentina to a lesser extent, really.

Some "experts" predicted Newcastle to win the league...

When Newcastle were knocking on the door early in the 2nd half I was about to post that this year will be a 3-horse race between City, Spurs, and Newcastle.

That's what I get for doubting King Klopp. I thought it was crazy to sub out Diaz.

Liverpool with twos shots on target and buried them both.

We should have won that easily, no excuses. Absolutely dog shit in the second half.
