We discussed this a few months back, in the Star Trek thread, but it seems him and JJ have met to bring his idea into reality. Tarantino grew up watching TOS, but said his favorite episode, and the one he wanted to base is movie off of, was the TNG episode "Yesterdays Enterprise"
