Saddest song ever

A little quirky, but very sad to me. It's about astronauts returning from a mission and everyone they love has passed away. Dat time dilation.

I'm not going to wait for the embedded videos to load so I'll leave these:

Hurt - Johnny Cash (hearing an old man near death sing it....holy Shit)

Last Kiss - Pearl Jam's cover (Eddies voice just makes it depressing)

The Dance - Garth Brooks

Taps

Amazing Grace

And for me personally...I can not listen to this song now, ever, I will cry

Who You'd Be Today - Kenny Chesney, was played during my very best friends viewing.....I was there for 6 hours....

A few:
Comeback - Pearl Jam:

Saves the day - Lonely Nights:

Tony Sly - Burgies, Basics and You:

"Whiskey Lullaby"
(feat. Alison Krauss)

She put him out like the burnin' end of a midnight cigarette
She broke his heart he spent his whole life tryin' to forget
We watched him drink his pain away a little at a time
But he never could get drunk enough to get her off his mind
Until the night

[1st Chorus]
He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away her memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength he had to get up off his knees
We found him with his face down in the pillow
With a note that said I'll love her till I die
And when we buried him beneath the willow
The angels sang a whiskey lullaby

(Sing lullaby)

The rumors flew but nobody knew how much she blamed herself
For years and years she tried to hide the whiskey on her breath
She finally drank her pain away a little at a time
But she never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind
Until the night

[2nd Chorus]
She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away his memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength she had to get up off her knees
We found her with her face down in the pillow
Clinging to his picture for dear life
We laid her next to him beneath the willow
While the angels sang a whiskey lullaby

(Sing lullaby)

I listened to so.e of these and now I have to explain to my colleagues why I've Been crying. You bastards.

I suppose if you can identify with them then they are incredibly sad.
I think this one is the saddest song. So many of the lyrics could easily be about me and my current situation. I can't even listen to the song anymore!
Starts really quietly.

This is probably the next saddest in my opinion.

I find this extremely sad too.

I've always thought Land of Hope and Glory to be really, really sad.

How could i forget 40 Watt Sun, all of their songs are really sad

Tears in Heaven, anyone?
This is what I thought of the second I read the OP.

Last Kiss is definitely sad but I had a girlfriend in high school that over played it so I'm numb to it.

What I find sad most other people would probably think wtf? How's that sad. Because I mostly listen to extreme Metal however even extreme metal bands are able to create somber/sad/melancholic sound with guitar riffs, piano/keyboard. Even though the vocals are a bit harsher
