So asking high income earners to pay a little more to fund education and affordable housing doesn't seem like an unreasonable thing to do in an area with a strong local economy. If you make 251, you're makign 250,000 - (1,000* .0225) = 250,977.50

This illegal tax is already passed, since the Seatle City Council unanimously voted among themselves last month, knowing full well they don't have the authority to unilaterally enacting new taxes under the State constitution.

The state constitution says taxes must be uniform within a class of property; a 1984 state law bars cities from taxing net income; and cities must have state authority to enact taxes.

@ 250k you are paying an extra $6,250 in taxes. All you need to make is a bit past 257k and you are past even money. A proper raise would already blow past those taxes.

can't believe people are bitching about a 2.5% tax @ 250k. I am living in the wrong state for sure...
