A few days ago Azealia Banks tweeted this.

I am in Sweden and feel oppressed by socialism here. No grass, strict alcohol laws and boring food.

A day later she shared this story on Instagram.

The Swedes are definitely racists. They have the kind of racism where you automatically get disgusted when you see a black person, and rather than cast an evil eye, you avoid eye contact at all.

Azealia Banks says she understands why ASAP Rocky "flipped" and continues.

I would have loved to see somebody bomb the shit out of this place and give everyone white something to cry over. Foolish, blonde pigs are what you are.

I mean if a white artist came to the US and said these things about blacks, then as a Swede I had felt a great hatred for this person. How do you as Americans feel about how she pronounces white Swedes in a very aggressive way? Isn't this racism?

Maybe everyone reacts poorly to her because she's ugly with an apparantly shit personality

It must be nice going to another country knowing she can say all kinds of bullshit because she is held to a lower standard.

I looked at the news and they did a report on people who are dark-skinned and the racism they face every day in Poland. The group that was interviewed was from Nigeria and most of them played as professional footballers in the country. One of the men had also married a polish and had a child with her. He told that Polish men spits on her and horrible ugly names referring to their African origins are something they must endure daily.

Therefore, when there are such direct comments about Sweden, I feel that it is misplaced. I could have understood if she had now been in Poland and felt racism, it would have made more sense. And if she had done so, I would promise that it would have been in all Polish news. They might have imprisoned her for incitement to peoples.

What do I know?

Banks is a legit nut job. I don't know what drugs she's on, or if she's just a really dumb troll, but she is terrible.
She's not popular for her music, and no one actually likes her.
She's known because she'll say stupid shit like this

She even lets down the people who try to help her. The Rza invited her to a Hollywood party a few years back and she causes a fight with Russell Crowe. Getting offended by what she says (unless it's right at you, to your face) isn't worth it.

Apparently she managed to get into troubles on her flight home too, claiming staff from the swedish air company she travelled with, racially profiled her and assaulted her.
The company confirms that there was a incident where a passenger behaved grossly inappropriate toward other passengers and the crew. States that there are a zero-tolerance on breaking airplane rules and regulations, and that the FBI was called in at the airport.

Perhaps her fried chicken withdrawels had her saying crazy stuff. It certainly sounds like Grass is the last thing this mental turnip needs more of.

"withdrawels"
<36>

Mildly racist and stupid.

I´m sorry, withdrawals, better Miss SpellCheck? English is my third language. I´m sure you got the point... You didn´t get the joke though, that´s ok.

That's her shtick. That's always been her shtick. Your selective outrage is like manna to her.

War room so starved for race bait threads that we gotta headline the antics of C-list nobodies now?

No time to check people's posting history in the WR, bro. If people say potentially racist shit, I just assume they are most likely racist and it's not a joke.

Kudos on the 3 languages though

It was supposed to be a bit racist, in response to the wildly racist things that disgusting whore said.

If you see racism everywhere you look, then you are the racist.

'morning IGotAHugePeckah,

Not sure what point you're trying to make here. Maybe you could clarify.

point? my point was to say that Azaelia Banks said something about Swedish culture that struck me as politically incorrect.

i really had no idea who she is (i figured she must be a celebrity of some sort), though she seems to be someone who sings songs.

i googled her and was turned off immediately when i read that she slagged on the Stone Roses, a great band out of the UK from the 80's.

I really hope you're not trying to insinuate that, because I typically have a general disdain for PC/outrage culture, I automatically think anything "politically incorrect" is awesome and should not be scrutinized, criticized or ostracized. I really, truly hope that's not what you're getting at, because the pure unadulterated idiocy required to think that was somehow a salient point would be off the charts.

i'm not clear what you're going on and on about here. i haven't posted in a few months and do not know what you think about PC/outrage culture.

*muses*

i've read that Sweden is kind of boring...and of the major European cities one can visit, Stockholm can be a drag - so maybe there is some truth to Ms. Banks observations - but her statements struck me as politically incorrect. if one is performing there and seeks to draw a large audience, they seemed misguided.

what's the problem here?

I doubt Banks would ever get spit on in Sweden.

I was hoping no one else would bring up other countries since this thread specifically about Sweden but....

I really wish Americans (especially black people) would do a little more traveling in Europe, South America and most of Asia. They'd learn what REAL racism is and feels like. They'd be running back to the US REALLY quick.

Why does everything have to be so definitive on this site?

If you are not too lazy then you can check out my post history and maybe some of the more active members can tell you that I am neither racist nor start race hate threads. I think it's really a shame that you and a few others on this site are quick to judge everyone over one edge.

I'm left and for that reason I can't question this woman and her aggressive comments? Do you have to be on the right side of the scale to discuss this topic?
