Given that most people are not Jon Jones, it mostly takes about 2 decades or more to become really good at a decent number of disciplines that would qualify you as a complete mix martial artist.

By that time most guys are usually 30, depending how early they got their start in whatever they did first (boxing, muay thai, wrestling etc)

Now most guys when their 30 are in really good form, but only 3 to 5 years later they start to decline dramatically, and a big factor here besides wear and tear is t-leves declining.

So my question is, should trt be legal in some sort of form? Like for example they determine what a "prime" t - level should be, and fighters that score under it should be able to take control doses to get to that amount?

Another question that might arise is gonna be, how much are we gonna let fighters fight...should 60 year old hopped on trt still be able to fight in this scenario?

There's a lot of factors involved and I'm not knowledgeable enough about the topic to really weigh in here. Senior citizens should be allowed to fight, though.

Reason: Fuck 'em.

Yes, but there should be a minimum age requirement and as well as number of years competing in the sport.

I'd rather people recover better via the juice than get addicted to opiates and pain killers because they never did

Trt should definitely be legal. What they did to TRTor was the biggest crime in mma history. As long as the levels arent higher than the normal range i dont see anything wrong with it.

If it was...

Kind of wish it was legal. Does anyone really not miss TRT Vitor?

That shit was awesome

TUE's are legal under USADA. https://www.usada.org/substances/tue/. that includes TRT TUE's.

but the AC's didn't have the infrastructure to handle it well (e.g. differentiate between people who had a medical need and those who didn't.) so they tried it, concluded it failed miserably, and stopped it.

if Jon Jones wants a TRT TUE he can apply for one.

but no, your facile idea that it should be allowed for guys that age, that is part of the problem. it cannot not lead to abuse.

No, because its not fair to essentially require people to take such controversial supplements even when they dont medically need it. TRT is great if you legit have low T, but the side effects are not so great especailly if you dont have low T to begin with and are forced to take it because everyone else is too.

Its just stupid.

Vitor was literally about to murder someone. They need not ever bring it back.

Trt is legal. Just like weed. But against the rules. If you need to trt then you’re probably too old to be fighting.

Agree...

Any blood test hormonal panel can show how much ng/dl of testosterone is circulating. No matter if it comes from endogenous or exogenous, if results come back below normal ranges max/higher end of the spectrum, which tend to be around 800-900 they should be good to go.

Steroid cycle levels are way higher than this... around 3000-5000 ng/dl... which is about 500mgs to a gram of test a week.

So staying on that normal/upper range of the natty spectrum isnt going to make anyone look like ngannou or overeem. Only when you start dosing to supra physiological levels you get to reap benefits like that.

Test is test... regardless if it is produced by your body or exogenous... Its not like injecting or using a trt cream that put you at normal range is going to turn you into the hulk.

Trt Vitor was a beast but Thats different. He had low t and needed trt because of years of steroid abuse. Who knows what his body abilities would be like had he been clean his whole career.

Before trt was banned fighters were allowed to have 6x the average testosterone level and they were still failing tests for having it higher than that. It was abused and that’s why it’s not allowed anymore.

true...

what im saying is that they could reduce the allowed ranges... not make it completely illegal

Studies that show a decline in men's test levels was done on sedentary men...not active men that workout regularly...I think you will find a very limited and reduced reduction in test levels on those men.
