Even though I liked the movie and it was a lot better then TFA, I agree with almost all the points in this vid..

I saw it again as well- my opinion was pretty much the same- entertaining just with significant flaws. I do feel that the second viewing helps in terms of the fact that you know where it is going and can appreciate aspects of it without having to feel that something did or did not live up to where you were hoping it was going to go.

I must have missed that Yoda line the first time around. The books contain nothing that the girl does not already know...

That strikes me as some ignorant BS. lol.
.

Maybe. she has already been trained in the force but doesnt remember it. Kylo woudnt feel so bad getting schooled by someone who is not really a rookie. Her upbringing is a black hole so it woulndt violate any_thing throwing that in.
The only possible explanation for anyone saying The Last Jedi is worse than the prequels (or to claim the prequels are better than almost any movie ever to receive wide release) is severe brain damage.

And this wasn't generally forgettable? A few cool scenes with a meandering plot.

Say what you want about the prequels, the eye candy was better and more alive. Lucas is an awesome idea guy. The original star wars could have never been created by anyone else. The closest you get with a great idea guy also being a great director is Terry Gilliam.

Episodes IV, V and IV can’t be touched. Star Wars movies will never be the same as the originals. Too much comedy in these new ones. It’s like Earth 2017 jokes that they incorporate into these movies. Terrible writing

More later

Ive heard some people mention Lando could have been in this. Even though it would be recycling old characters/tropes I think it could have worked.

Instead of Finn going to find some unknown character, he goes to get help from Lando who is now a big whale at the Casino place. We get a quick cameo from Lando and actually have Finn accomplish something.

There were numerous parts throughout that had me rolling my eyes and cringing like fuck, but surprisingly, overall, I actually walked away somewhat enjoying this thing. I'd say it washed a lot of the bad taste out of my mouth from the dreadful TFA. Though I imagine this was for certain individual scenes that made me happy, not the movie as a whole overall.

But man, Kylo was STILL made to be a total bitch. So the red guards have both he and Rey is choke holds, Rey is able to overcome and escape the guard that has her and defeat him, but Kylo is not. Rey had to come to his rescue. Are you kidding me? The guy they're trying to set up as the big bad........is still made to look like a total bitch and complete joke. AGAIN?! Wow.

And at the end you can see how lost Kylo truly is to the dark side..... yet he shows no traditional signs of being lost to the dark side......."because."

So now all of a sudden ships are concerned with fuel, even though we've never heard of this before? And ships have unlimited shielding that never degrades with prolonged hits. And weapons are unlimited too? So shields, weapons, unlimited. "Fuel" all of a sudden not. Riiiiiiiight.

And we're also to believe that the Dreadnought had no deflector shields activated in the beginning...... because?! Fuck this gay Disney SW.

The best thing of the whole movie was John Williams' score. This has got to be his best work since..... possibly Jurassic Park. (Though a lot of it was recycled from the OT)

Overall, a significant improvement over the absolutely astonishingly abysmal Force Awakens. Doesn't touch the OT though.

I liked TFA and found it entertaining. I'd say the same about this one but I felt the flaws were more glaring and irritating to me in this one than in TFA. In the first one, I think I was just utterly stoked at a new Star Wars movie and really enjoyed it even if there was way too much borrowing from A New Hope.

So true about the fuel. I was thinking the same thing. How much does it take to gas up those Star Destroyers. lol. Why has that never been a big deal ever but was a critical plot point for this one.

As far as Kylo goes and your point there

I will say this about him- he took out Snoke who was absolutely outclassing Rey. That was a 10-8 round if I ever saw one. So that's a feather in his cap. That said, yeah whenever Rey and Ren face off, Rey has the edge for sure. Kylo was out cold when Hux found him in Snoke's throne room. Rey, meanwhile, had regained consciousness (if she was ever even out), taken Snoke's ship, and bailed already. I'm not saying Rey has a better chin than Kylo Ren, but...she has a better chin than Kylo Ren. And, not to mention, considering he was out and she was conscious, she almost assuredly could have killed him had she wanted to while he was out and vulnerable.
.

Ok if this guys theory is true, then I can forgive The Last Jedi. I'd still be mad at it, but I'd at least be excited for the next movie (Which currently I couldn't give much of a shit about).

The lightspeed collision was awesome. I've been dreaming about that happening in either Star Wars or Star Trek since the early 90s, even before seeing The Best of Both Worlds. I'm glad I finally saw it and for the most part it didn't disappoint.

Except it was fucking stupid, and totally messed with any semblance of laws and rules in the universe. If you could simply destroy the large class ships with a light speed collision, why weren't the rebels doing kamikaze missions all over the place? I admit the effect was cool, the silence and the hard light/dark imagery, but still, stupid fucking concept.

I like TFA. I thought this one was terrible. About 15 minutes in I only cared about scenes with Luke and sometimes Kylo and Rey. Everything else was filler and mostly ridiculous. There was way too much cute stuff (and I can watch cute animal vids for hours). Benicio Del Toro's stutter angered me. The movie should have been 90 minutes.

thst stutter was pointless and stupid made the character look silly.

There was a lot of Jackie Boy in there if it wasn’t for that stutter

He was the only logically thinking person in the entire movie. “They bomb you today, you bomb them tomorrow”. So fuck it, just survive and get paid.

{<huh}
Huh? What difference does that make? Is there a rule book they have to follow or something?

Are you referring to the 90 min comment? That way the could have cut out a bunch of pointless shit.

I hope everybody does know that Rey's parents are not who it was said they were in this movie. I'm pretty sure I know who she is.

The fuel thing is stupid to come up with now, why wouldn’t the falcon have been empty just sitting on jakku

Astromechs fly x-wings into Death Stars and star destroyers at light speed. Story over.

Shit was stupid to bring in now.

No, you have a good idea as a lot of us do as to who abrams had her parents be. Johnson shit on that like he did snoke , luke and pretty much everything abrams had set up for self serving desires.

He fucked a who generation of fans

No. It's still open. Ren was lying.

So Star Wars, in its opening weekend, just made almost twice what Blade Runner has made in its entire run.

That's fucking stupid.

What really bothers me about Rey with no lineage isn’t her power, it’s her abilities that she has with no knowledge of them.

Like the mind trick, she just pulled that out of her ass? Feeling like the mind trick and the saber where somehow connecting her to Obi wan.

He spent the most time with the Blue saber in his possetion out of all of those that owned it.

Or luke he had her dropped off when he went into hiding. But why never mention it unless Rian just wanted to piss on us.

It has a much larger following, was to be expected.

I love blade runner but was too busy to go see the new one.

I had to bring the kid to see Star Wars, he would t have sat through blade runner with me. We’ll watch it at home.
