Suggest Me a Compact AR15

wilson combat recon sr tactical ar-15. it's not the cheapest, but it's high quality, hand fitted and assembled from cnc milled billet parts.

That was my first suggestion. I wa just looking at them. I may get one just to have as a project gun.

I'm real tempted to as well as a "house gun". The one I built I think I'll use as a "do it all" type thing

Considering a Compact Rifle. A 0-100 yard Rifle.
the
AR15 seems the cheapest choice for what I'm looking for, but I'm too lazy at this point to go scouring the internet for the cheapest AR deal out there.

So this is a question for all the high speed gunslingers out there, or whoever keeps up with this run n gun stuff.

What's the cheapest AR deal out there?

16 inch barrel, Mid length gas tube. No Sights Chromoly Barrel fine.

Cast lower, with cheap tele-buttstock?

That's it, anybody got any links?

The cheapest AR deal is going to be something like Bear Creek, Century, or another unknown name using Chinese-sourced parts. I'd advise against it. Palmetto State Armory is inexpensive and provides decent quality from US-sourced parts.

The combination of mid-length and no front sight post pretty much rules out any of the bargain-basement stuff.

I'm not even sure where to find cast lowers now.

Based on your criteria, I'd buy a PSA kit, (wait for Black Friday, they'll have some good deals), and order a forged lower from your local gun shop. I see Anderson forged lowers for under $50 all the time. I picked up two of the new Spikes Crusader lowers for $150 last month (forged, with integrated triggerguard, high quality but I could do without the stupid markings). I'd recommend not skimping on the lower or the parts you put in it. If you ever decide to upgrade to a higher-end rifle, having a good lower makes that much easier.

Plus shipping and $80 for a Crusader lower puts you right at $600, you'll have a decent quality AR for bargain bin money. I should mention it will take you up to an hour to assemble the lower if you're new to the process.

I have no idea what that means. DD?

OK thanks, but most of everything posted is carbine length gas tube.

I just did some looking and found this:

That's sufficient and only like $360. Another $70 for a trigger, and then a basic close quarter scope and a cheap laser. Plenty good. Thanks. Carry on.

Didn't even see that upper, its a steal at that price but it isn't complete, you need a bolt carrier group and a charging handle. Also keep in mind shipping and FFL fees if you buy the lower online, as it's classified as a firearm.

Have you thought about doing an AR pistol? Much smaller and compact. You could also do like a 8.5" 300 AAC black out for example. Better knock down, perfect for inside 100 yards.

Cheap as well.

I tried a pistol rig once. Didn't care for it. The slightly better conceal ability didn't outweigh its short comings when came shooting time compared to the carbine.

I'll be putting these in it, so it'll be alright.

Thanks again for the suggestions.

So what did you buy?

Get an AR pistol and put a stock saddle and AFG on it.
