They paid out $4 million alone to Guilfoyle's victim. With Bill O'Reilly, one of his victims got $32 million, another $9 million, and another $1.6 million. Roger Ailes' sexual harassment settlements were over $50 million. In May 2017, it was reported that they had paid $110 million in the last 9 months alone. It's got to be in the hundreds of millions, perhaps $250 million or a bit more altogether. Especially if you include the associated settlements with shareholders that was $90 million in one settlement.

Wouldn't surprise anyone, coming from her, but on the other hand the timing of the accusations is also extremely convenient.

This was actually settled when Guilfoyle left Fox News years ago (despite having recently signed a BIG contract with them). It was reported then, but is somehow becoming a bigger story now. There was nothing suspicious about the timing at the time. And these companies don't hand out multi-million dollar settlements out of the goodness of their hearts. It's because the plaintiff is able to amass corroborating evidence like texts, emails, recorded phone calls, etc. Fox News had a corporate culture that at best looked the other way with this sort of thing. If anything, they practically encouraged it. In Guilfoyle's case in particular, MULTIPLE female employees reported that she showed them porn and explicit pics of her boyfriends, not just the one woman who received the settlement.

No, FOX has been settling sexual harassment claims for quite a while and as I said, the girl has a case.

From my experience women in authority do/say all kinds of stuff that a man would automatically think 4 times before saying; especially when their friends are in the room.

I posted the New Yorker article before, it's worth a read.

It's probably not the bad behavior itself that led to the large settlement, it's the coverup attempt afterwards. Especially attempting an informal payoff and threatening the victim. If those techniques fail, then it's hard to explain them away to a judge or jury later.

In this case it's not a woman with power issue so much as a Fox News chronic problem. Ailes, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Howard Kurtz, and even Guilfoyle's co-host Eric Bolling all have been sued or mentioned in lawsuits. Management under Ailes looked the other way for so long that it got baked into the culture.
